Managed to stay away from spoilers despite suspecting the obvious end of the episode for like...ever. Nice to finally know one way or the other anyhow. Tyrion again managed to be awesome and the interactions between Ser Davos and Melisindre were pretty good. Everything else was fairly blah but by no means bad.

Screw whether Jon Snow lives or dies, we need a Hodor origins episode..

I'm glad snow is back, but we knew it was going to happen. He was too important to the story.

Agreed but on the other hand it's still nice to finally have that side of things confirmed.

Of course, he'll die again next episode now, just to **** with us :p

(not that Mel couldn't just bring him back again based on what we've seen with the other red priest)

Good episode with an ending only the blind wouldn't see coming. Loved the giant smashing through the gate and the Tyrion scenes :D

Maybe the first thing he'll say is "Hodor" giving us that origin story.

Also time must run at a faster pace where Bran is.

I think the actor playing Hodor managed to squeeze a lot of character and emotion into his performance considering he was only uttering a single word :D

Were we supposed to know who it was who pushed papa Grejoy?
*book talk* (though barely a spoiler tbh...)
we only know that he is a brother in the show... I'm sure we'll be told his name in the show next episode, not that a name actually spoils anything

I did wonder, based on Tyrion in that last episode...
(speculation spoiler based on an existing fan hypothesis)
and the Dragons - could the Dragons' reaction to him add to evidence that he might be a Targaryen (as a result of an affair between the Mad King and Tywin's wife) rather than a Lannister... making him Danerey's half brother and possibly also Jon's Uncle?

spoiler/speculation based on episode 3 preview and book
those are house umber banners on the way to visit Ramsey at Winterfell with a 'gift' - since the show has already gone off track compared to the book here and is potentially further ahead this is a bit odd, are the Umbers still going to fulfill the same role, befriend the Boltons and then plot to bring him down... would be amusing if he's captured Reek and brought him along as the 'gift'

another spoiler based on a well known fan hypothesis and that episode 3 preview
given it seems young Ned is going to be in the Tower scene next episode is the TV Show going to confirm R + L = J ahead of the book? I think that could be another one for newspapers to spoil before the episode airs at a reasonable time in the UK
