Saw this for the second time tonight and it was much a better viewing, I felt like I'd missed a fair bit from the first watch.

Defence again? Very odd... I never made judgment on the TFA against the prequels. As they do not exist for me.

Spiderman was brilliant.
I also loved the fact that it was a ride...A joy....a very clever Marvel movie...
I wasn't that keen. The action sequences were good but the plot doesn't really exist, the "civil war" seemed very forced and the villain was poor.
My favourite two are Iron Man 1 and Captain America 1 and most of the other movies seem soulless in comparison.

Just saw this. It was pretty cool.
I didn't get why Stark went and got Spiderman to help him since he was just a kid.
The fights were pretty silly - Iron Man should have easily defeated Cap and Bucky, and I don't get how Cap was able to survive being punched by Iron Man or Bucky since he doesn't have some super forcefield. They would have just destroyed his face or punched right through his chest (OK Iron Man might have tried to avoid that, but Bucky wouldn't, and I doubt Stark is able to make his punches weak enough not to break bones). All those guys Bucky punched would have had broken chests/ribs and probably died from internal bleeding.
The bad guy's plan was so convoluted it was just silly.
Again Ant-man's powers make no sense within the rules of the universe, since Pym's daughter said he was strong because he would be hitting with the strength of a 200lb man through a tiny fist, therefore when he grows he must also have the strength of a 200lb man, so couldn't pick up all that stuff. He atoms are either spread apart or pulled together, there is not supposed to be any change in strength.
This film just reiterates how silly it was for Deadpool to make a big deal about killing people in his movie since The Avengers killed bad guys within the first 10 minutes.

I thought it was quite good but not as good as the winter soldier which I rate as one of the better marvel movies. The trouble is they don't really have to do to much to make a decent film, all they have to do is throw in some action a few one liners from iron man and forshadow future films and they will get rave reviews.
The films story line was convoluted and to much of a half way house, it was like they tried their best to avoid real animosity between the sides (which makes sense given their upcoming films) but in so doing made the civil war element very poorly done and meant there was no real side to pick.

Dont get me wrong it allows us to all keep liking all of the characters for future films but it means that the whole civil war aspect is a bit of a side show when it is supposed to be the main focus.
I enjoyed it a lot but it felt more like Avengers 3: Gangs of New York and directed by Michael Bay.
Should have been more about Captain America and less Iron Man (as much as I like the character).
Really enjoyed the Spiderman and Ant Man appearances

Thought it was pretty good and will probably go and see it again. Olsen's Scarlet Witch made me dribble
I thought it was really good, and strangely, I am finding Captain America becoming one of my favourite Avenger in terms of character development. Ironman has got a little 1 dimensional, Ironman 1 was great but he hasn't really grown as a character since. But Captain America has gone from a more mediocre beginning to the best trilogy of its own.
And I agree, Scarlet Witch is very nice! and I think she is the most powerful of them all. She could make anyone of them trapped in a bubble.
Enjoyed it, but as some other posters have mentioned, not as much as the Winter Soldier.
It just was not 'dark' enough for me. Some of the fight scenes did not seem brutal enough. My favourite scene in the WS was when Cap and BW face off against Bucky on the road by the underpass. Some great choreograpnhy there.
I did enjoy 'the' main fight though.
My son and his friend (both 6)were literally shrieking with excitement seeing Antman and Spiderman in full flow, and TBH it was a damn good action sequence.

Winter soldier worked so well for me because it didn't need superheroes for the story to work. Replace the WS and CA with regular people and it would have worked as a spy drama type of film. So I had high hopes for civil war but it felt like an Avengers movie just with a larger amount of Captain America in it rather than Iron Man. Although it was darker than an Avengers film with a lot less humour.
