Like the look of the older one listed above.
I seem to like shoe shaped cars like Mazda 3, Almera Gti and the Z3M though...

I quite like it, would say it's more breadvan than shooting brake however.
What's that got to do with making the boot space larger?
Saw this on Pistonheads. Looks great from some angles.... just plain weird from others.
Think I'd consider it if you could remove the rear seats and get a bike in the back

Didn't realise it had folding rear seats. Decent sized boot overall, looks like it might be a bit more of a squeeze with a mountain bike but still doable.

I've seen a few people doing it; the difficulty is not the cargo size, it's the size of the boot aperture. I tried to get my bike in the back once but didn't quite manage it due to the handlebars. I could probably do it with some manhandling, but I was only trying it out and didn't want to ruin my interior, so I abandoned my trial run.

I personally don't find them too bad considering the size of the car, for relatively short trips they are reasonably comfortable and easily accessible.

I merely sat in the back of one in a dealership and that was for a minute. It was the most cramped seating I have ever experienced in a 2 door car before and had difficulty getting out.
