Knife attack in Munich station

Post 74 says he's a German national. German nationals can't be muslims now? Mesut Özil must be very confused...:D

See I didn't fall for that trap, knowing the article didn't specify it :p....but you ignored my answer that all interest dropped off because he wasn't a muslim terrorist.

And the shouting of Allahu Akbar is debateable at this point as well, it's not been corroborated.

there isn't anything debatable about the fact that witnesses have stated he shouted those things

and since the only people who can state that are the witnesses and the attacker himself (who AFAIK has repeated those things since the attack) then it is a dubious thing to be skeptical about

he probably is muslim, he probably did shout those things, he doesn't seem to have links to extremist groups, he does seem to have mental health issues

http://www.thelocal.de/20160510/no-evidence-munich-attacker-linked-to-terrorism-police

"Police and state prosecutors at Tuesday's press conference confirmed that the man has no criminal record and has no known links to terrorism or religious fundamentalism in either police or intelligence databases.

Neither is there any evidence that he might have become radicalized through online materials such as videos.

Both the perpetrator himself and a witness confirmed that he shouted “Allahu akbar” - “God is great” in Arabic – during the attack.

But officers were unable to get from him an explanation as to why he called out those words or – as another eyewitness reported - shouted at people nearby in German that they were “unbelievers”.

He shouted 'Allah Akbar' and 'You infidels must die' apparently.... he probably is Muslim it seems he's also suffering from mental health issues - those two things definitely aren't mutually exclusive

Surely "mental health issues" are something of a pre-requisite for deciding to attack a bunch of random strangers up in the name of a (almost certainly) fictional character?

Eyes down ;)

[x] It's all the West's fault
[ ] He's been suffering from anxiety and depression
[ ] Mental illness is responsible for this
[x] Lone nutter
[x] False flag
[ ] Not a real muslim
[ ] Isolated case
[ ] Christians do bad things too!

You missed "religion of peace" and "media blackout" to name two more. May as well have a Full list. ;)

I can conclude his shouting of ALLAHU AKBAR!!!!!1 and attacking with a knife (a popular way for muslims to attack Jews) that he is probably a muslim.

:D

Have you seen the knife crime statistics in the UK...?

Popular because they are an easy weapon to get, instead of you know a gun...

It really does just seem that this guy is a nutter, named Paul, rather than an islamist terrorist.

When asked why he was not wearing shoes, the suspect told police “he felt bugs on his feet that had caused blisters and were generating intense heat"

I heard some British police officers shouted that recently as well, wonder if they are Muslim terrorists.

Well in 21st century Western civilization, we term any behaviour we don't like as a mental illness, so sure. In reality, you do not have to be mentally ill to go on such a rampage and violent behaviour is not evidence of mental illness.

That said, I have no idea if this particular person was mentally ill.

It actually translates to Our God is greater than yours.

''Allahu Akbar (Arabic: الله أكبر) is an Islamic phrase, called Takbir in Arabic, meaning "God is greater" or "God is [the] greatest".

It can't be 'greater than yours' because that would accept more than one god, which is contradictory to the basic tenet of Islam and several other religions.
If you are being facetious, that is not at all clear.

So in using that Arabic term what is that religious God greater than? if not another God.

I have always thought that any God in any religion is number one, greater than anything else in the world\universe blah blah blah, in the eyes of it's followers that is.
