Regarding gloves.

I'm not really happy with my rst gloves, cost me around £70 (professional series) and some stitching starting to fray, and don't wear them every day.

Same with my rst 1 piece leather, bottom of zip, the stitching running along side came out and was unthreading but got it fixed.

Rst a cheaper brand?
Yeah, RST is crap don't buy it... from gloves A* SP8

This guy. This guy is smart. Be like Mr Clov!s. Also, how is your online dating thing going? You always ripped me over it :o

Mine is just as awful as before. :p
Online dating, I mean really? ...really? :o:p

Don't you want to get out of the house? I'm planning on moving out as soon, as I get a decent full time job. I don't really fancy buying a house though. The rooms are tiny and the buildings are old, I'm thinking about buying out an apartment in one of those new modern flats with underground garage with CCTV and the whole area surrounded by a fence with CCTV cameras.

I do but I have a great relationship with my parents, my dad is my best friend and my mum is awesome so I enjoy living with them. :)

im thinking of getting a bike but some of my biker friends say make sure its really what you want, the roads are getting more dangerous nowadays with idiots on the road :(

Meh, ignore them, try it for yourself :)

Go do your CBT on a geared bike, see how you get on. Maybe even get a 125, you can get good deals and sell it off for not much less if you don't like it or want to upgrade.

I've never heard of a biker discouraging anyone from riding they sound like they're just pretending :p

The roads aren't that dangerous - not riding like an idiot (dodgy overtakes, too fast round blind bends etc.) and anticipation of other road users can go a long way to reduce the risks.

Everyone has to die sometime:Djust carry a donor card on you:p

Aslong as your sensible and keep your wits about you, you'll be fine

that's very true, i seen loads of bikers, they are much better drivers than car drivers LOL, does make you realise how dangerous for bikers tho.

As others have said, it's only as dangerous as you make it. Dodgy overtakes, taking corners too quick etc... will make the risk bigger.

I used to be very reserved, and wouldn't lean the bike over much or give it the beans, but now I do and know my limits. I think it's all about finding the fun/limitation balance.

You can't help being SMIDSY'd by other road users, but that is where observations come in

I saw a couple in Maccy Ds' last week with matching leathers & Bikes, I actually felt Sorry for the fella :( + :p

I like those gloves... might get me some.

Yeah, not good with that sort of stuff! :( In person or online haha :p
J&S are all over the UK, check online stock and go try them on. IXS Talura II aren't bad either, I prefer the A* though. :p

There's a higher chance of dying or becoming disabled, ignoring the fact that you MIGHT crash is stupid. But give it a go, see how you like it. Its like anything else, someone likes to surf, skate and other people ride bikes. I'm crap at skateboarding and BMX, crashed really badly couple times and gave up. :p

Haha no online dating anymore, gave up with it, I'm hoping to meet a nice hot biker chick in the summer :D
Haha, being single isn't that bad tbh... :p

Some dealers must be on something when they come up with prices for bikes...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2010-APRILIA-TUONO-FACTORY-EXCEPTIONAL-CONDITION-/121983577681?hash=item1c66c9ae51:g:dR8AAOSwfZhXM0aE

£7,700 for a Gen2 Tuono in "execptional condition" (I'd expect it to be spotless for that money and description, it isn't):confused:

Right below it is a 2013 plate V4R Tuono with 1000 miles on the clock, and £1k's worth of extras for £300 more...

That bike is never worth that in a month of Sundays. £6500, maybe. Nearly 8 grand? **** off.
