Wow, met up with an old friend last night. Haven't seen him for a year or so as he went down south to do freelancing.

On learning about my biking (I've kept quiet about it on social media cause a friends brother was killed on a bike a few years back), his immediate stance was how dangerous it is, and how I'm most likely going to die on my bike.

This is a guy I used to go paragliding, and sports / trad climbing with(!)

It just reminds you how crazily skewed most peoples perception of biking is, even people who are happy to partake in higher risk activities.

I might go and purchase that US30 at lunchtime today.

I assume i can just unclip it easy from the back and walk off with it?

Yup. Comes with a handy carry strap as well.

I have the 30 and two 20's. Going to be fully testing them during the North Coast 500 this year :)

Sweet. What about security? Any way to leave it relatively secure whilst i walk around town for an hour? To save me carry it.

That's the only issue with soft bags as a whole, however if you have the us30 and 2x side bags everything is all strapped on pretty complexly, unless you actually knew which buckles to release a passer by probably won't be able to work out how to remove the packs :D

You do get a padded shoulder strap with the US30 which lets you use it as a messenger style bag.

I've got a gopro hero 3 which I'm yet to use, I also have a contour roam 2 which I bought and only used once, they are about £90 to buy but if you want you can have it? I'm never going to use it, it's got 2 helmet mounts and a mini USB cable, it's boxed, you just need to buy an SD card and a bike mount and cable if you intend to keep it charging via the battery if they are available.

Arghhh! Wish I'd seen this sooner. I have a roam2 and after my accident the mount was smashed. It's difficult if not near impossible to get mounts for them these days. Oh well!

Nice of you to give it away :)

If i don't get on with it, i'll pass it on :)

Just ran a quote with my current insurance and it's actually more expensive than what I'm paying now if I include the IAM qualification.

Its because if you are in one of these groups you are more likely to wear a POLITE hi-vis jacket... and then all other road users are out to purposely knock you off.... :D:p;)

I'm tempted to spring £180 on a GIVI top box kit instead of going for that Kriega soft tail bag.

You know if something has the same part number yet it states its for a different make/model of bike, should it still fit my bike?

Some of Suzuki parts fitted fine on my KTM, the rec/reg was from a Suzuki and those black clips for the fairings. :p KTuki xD

What bike are you thinking of as your next?

Edit

@tom_e, what leathers did you get? RST? How are they?

I've got an R16 jacket and the Tractech evo 2 bottoms, they're good seem well made plenty of movement in them. Not been down the road in them so no idea how they stand up on that front and hopefully I won't find out:D

One thing about the jacket is that is it cut quite short but I got the RST connection belt so I can zip it to my Hoods when I'm not going full power ranger.

Not sure how they'd feel on the more sit up position of the N though as they do tend to pull you into more of a racing crouch over the tank.

From the same manufacturer yes, different manufacturer there's no guarantee.
