Summer Transfer Window 2016/17 - Rumours & Signings

Yeah, I agree with that list. Though I would keep Per as a backup still and get CB to play with Kos.

Ox I would not mind giving him another season or two. But if he went I would not be bothered.

However Giroud and Walcott absolutely should go. Use the money, add more and get Higuain, Benzema or Moreta.

But whatever you do keep Wenger. Don't want to be the next Man U or God forbid Charlton/Leeds.

So get rid of Walcott and Giroud and only have a 9 month injured Welbeck and 1 other as proper strikers? No way, we need to keep Giroud as backup.

Yeah maybe. I would sell Giroud and let the new striker take his place. Walcott is not even a striker really. Rather take my chances with Iwobi :)

Rumors saying we will sign zielinski by Wednesday never seen the guy play know pretty much nothing about him tbh

My extensive scouting knowledge of him (google search) suggests he's an attacking midfielder...with the rumour of Gotze coming in as well suggests that maybe he see's Firmino's future up front. I know he has hinted of that before but he's certainly stacking up the attacking midfielder positions.

As well as the Polish lad, it's being reported in Kicker that Liverpool have agreed terms with Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius and a €10m deal is imminent.

Maybe or he may ship out Lallana he hasnt been the best but not super poor either, i was under impression zielinski was a winger? which we have none of besides ibe who is useless most games

Based on the bits and pieces I've seen and read, it seems like he's a bit of a Milner type of player - can play anywhere in midfield.

I'm not sure what to make of our signings/potential signings tbh. We've already got Grujic signed then with Zielinski and potentially Gotze arriving we're looking really heavy in midfield/central attacking midfield but still short of wingers - something Klopp mentioned previously. I'm not one to write a young player off but it looks like Ibe will become another SWP/Lennon - he's got the ability but I'm not sure he's got the brain to be a top class player. It wouldn't surprise me if he leaves this summer and while I don't think it's probable, I wouldn't be surprised if Henderson left too.

I agree with omnomnom, if we do indeed sign Gotze then I don't think we'll be signing a striker (even with Benteke leaving) and Firmino will mainly play up front.

edit: On Lallana - previously I've thought that his place in the squad could be under threat but the more the season has gone on the more you can see that Klopp rates him. Klopp usually makes a point of not singling 1 player out for praise but on a few occasions he's made a point of talking up Lallana's importance to the side.

Lallana just don't convince me I mean he isn't poor nor is he great just does a job and works hard, in regards to striker like you if benteke goes I think he will just stick with Sturridge, origi, ings and move firminho up as and when needed

Lallana's an odd one. He always looks neat and tidy and very rarely do you watch a match and say he's played poorly. He lacks end product though and I always get the feeling that he isn't brave enough or confident enough in the final third. So often he works great openings to play a final pass, burst into the box or take a shot and instead he takes that extra touch or does another one of his turns and takes the easy option.

Klopp seemingly rates him though. He's said a few times how important Lallana is to our counter-pressing and even his harshest criticcs couldn't be upset with him as an option in the squad to cover Coutinho, Firmino or, if we sign him, Gotze.

He's really odd. At Southampton you could see the confidence oozing through him and it came out in his play.

Maybe he's just not cut out for the pressure of being at a bigger club in front of a packed house each week? People might laugh, but there's been plenty of players through the door at Leeds over the years that looked a good fit, and on paper should have done well, but bottled it at home.

I really don't know. It's possible but then again he doesn't show any signs of struggling with the expectations/pressure in his general play and he was never a massive goalscorer at Southampton either. He only ever got into double figures in the Championship and below.

He's very reliable so this is an interesting development. As long as we're not paying insane money I think he's worth a go.

Think Mourinho and Zlatan get on well, too...

Of course you are going to pay insane money, no CL football and the only guy in the world with a bigger ego than Jose. Did you forget how much you paid falco?

By insane money I meant more than Rooney (could be though).

Still, it's well worth a go. Also probably a clear indication of LvG going as I don't think he'd want Zlatan.

LvG going and Jose and Zlatan confirmed would immediately cheer everyone up big time. Whatever the cost.
