I wish I was a pilot

Always wanted to be a pilot, still want to be a pilot and will always want to be a pilot. However, the only way in now is with rich parents. You need to secure over £110,000 against a house, and on top of that still find money for all your medicals, insurance and living expenses. Everyone I know who got on the courses through OAA or CTC all had parents that secured the money against their house.

yes in all seriousness I also wanted to be a pilot!
Captain Psd99 :)

I had a friend in uni who is now a pilot
back in those days it was about 80 to 100k to get his training done. His family sorted that money out at the time. Lucky guy but they are all reaping the rewards now :)

I never became a pilot but I do a lot of plane watching and I like to learn about the aviation industry! Particular interest is how the runways are used at Heathrow.

I wanted to be a naval architect. Loved designing boats for some reason. I was a weird kid.

My younger brother is going to study Naval Architecture with the MOD. :)

I wanted to be a pilot when I was younger. Now I live vicariously through various friends who fly jets and helicopters for the United States military. One friend, in particular, is an F18 pilot for the Marines. :)

My missus is a naval architect. Although not a huge call for them at the time so she ended up working for the MCA doing stability work (will various waves capsize a ship). If the Queen Mary 2 ever falls over, blame her. Shes a Marine Surveyor now though.

but a computer programmer can't pick up hot chicks lol

who wants to date a computer programmer or an IT person!?
(about to get thousands of abuse hurled at me lol)

My gf doesn't complain, and she loves the points I get from her computer illiterate father :D

I always wanted to be be a pilot when I was younger so when I grew up I became a pilot :p Roster next month has 4 trips, Antigua, Washington DC, NYC and San Francisco :D

I had an RAF Pilot scholarship lined up when I was 16. 2 years doing A-levels that they paid me for, join up for 12 years, retire when I was 30 and move on to airlines.

At least, that was the plan, had to fall in love and give it all up though and 19 years later it still pains me when I see jets flying around or helicopters going over.

But, looking into the eyes of my 2 kids that I've had with my wife, that girl I gave it all up for makes it all feel better.
