I think they've just had to shrink the world for convenience sake. Isn't it something like 1500 miles from Kings Landing to Winterfell? That's a journey that'll take months!

I don't quite understand this point - just because a week has passed between each episode when they're broadcast in real life doesn't mean only a week can have passed between episodes in the show. So not seeing him for a few episodes then seeing him pop up elsewhere isn't a big deal, Sam and Gilly are travelling even further but from the perspective of someone watching the boxed set it will only take them a few episodes to circumnavigate half the continent and arrive in Old Town

Why do people keep referring to Roose (sp?) Bolton iro Ramsay? Am I imagining that or is it someone else? Don't want to Google it for fear of spoilers.

I don't know what you mean by 'iro' but Roose Bolton was Lord of the House Bolton. Ramsay is his ******* offspring, and therefore was called Ramsay Snow. He has been legitimised and therefore taken the name of his Father's house.

Yet Gendry still rows on and on and on.

would be good if we saw him again... just to throw in another claimant to the throne

Or maybe he can claim House Baratheon if legitimised provided he doesn't stand against whoever is on the throne at the time.

there is fan speculation...
...predicting that he's actually legitimate - Robert did get Cersei pregnant once and Cersei said she'd had a miscarriage but actually maybe it was really Gendry and he was given away for adoption in secret

then again that doesn't necessarily add up with Robert's Hand Jon Arryn knowing who he was/tracking him down unless perhaps Jon Arryn didn't know the whole story and was led to believe Gendry was just another *******.

had suspicions it was CGI mainly because pre-nekkid she has very chubby arms (this season and season 5 uber chubby....lay off the pies Dany!) and yet when nekkid she is slim...hrmmm. She does need to lose a few pounds imo.

Words fail...

Asha could become king but judging by her comments to her father in episode 2 or 3? she thought the whole invasion of the North by them previously was futile and advocates that their strength is the sea.

If only one of our "chubby-armed" heroes needed a load of ships on account of theirs all being recently burnt by the Sons of the Harpy ;)

I just want to know what Cersei is up to.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend? She's too spiteful for that, so I'll be disappointed if there's nothing more to it. There must be a trap for the Tyrells in that plan somewhere. Cersei is a good schemer, almost as good as her father, but she's incapable of his emotional detachment. Instead, she's spiteful, vengeful, and doesn't easily forget even imagined slights. Would she really pass up the opportunity to try elimination her two most immediate problems at the same time?

I disagree. Cersei is a terrible schemer. She thinks she is good at it, but really she is not. She made a massive mistake in putting the Sparrows in power again, and it could end up bringing down the entire of the Lannisters.

Tywin was in a whole different league.

Started from scratch again last night with the first episode because there's so much I have forgotten :( Unbelievable watching it again how much happens in that first series and how long it took Robert to get from KL to Winterfell.

I agree with MooMoo. Tywin was unrivalled in his scheming, and Cersei isn't even in the same sport let alone league. She wants to be, she might think she is, but she's not. She has power and influence but doesn't see the moves the same way Tywin did.

She's also far too proud. Tywin was proud, but he knew when to genuflect and when to exert power.

I'm quite hoping the Lannister twins unleash some carnage, I find the followers of the Seven quite disquieting and evil in a mundane way.

It's been good to see the plots moving forward and I thought it was telling that the 3 core chcaracters of the episode were Tyrion, Danaerys and Jon. It's good to have strong female leads but something about Danaerys really puts me off. Her struggles always seem to be solved by being pig headed and relying on a Deux Ex Machina plot device. Arya by contrast has had to show true grit, although at key moments she relies on others.

I want to see Ramsay suffer a quick death will not suffice.

The plot has really diverged from the books in some areas. Theon, Sansa, the Iron Born, Varys and a number of missing characters whom I assume won't amount to much in the books if they can be so casually ignored in the series.

Still here's hoping for violence and some more movement toward clsoure in the major plots.

I just can't believe how much she's let herself go

Dany? I think you need to watch the first episode again and first series. She was always carrying a bit of meat in that. Not that it bothers me I'm just saying she's no different now really to how she started.

Let herself go or chubby? She's a normal woman, not thin not fat. If GoT was real she wouldn't be some toned amazonian anyway, she generally eats well and spends a lot of her time confined to command areas.
