Performance aside the reference boards look more premium than most of the AIB plastic tat that comes out.

Looks or performance....think 99% would chose performance. The cooler on the reference looks good but that aside if it drops clocks after 10 minutes or so on standard fan settings (and a few outlets are reporting that) its pretty crud.

Yes I would choose performance, just that imo the reference design nvidias look and feel more premium than most AIB versions. :)

My reference 980 hits over 70 degrees with 100% fan, when overclocked anyway.

Bored now cannot play any games on my 5870 not even rocket league because of the lag. I am not getting FE at more than custom cards. Will there be any custom cards on the 27th? Or will it be FE only??

Will they have the standard EVGA ACX etc. out on the 27th? I can see how card with more power etc. will take longer, but all those need to do is stick a different cooler on ref card.

Can't say yet, because of the NDA. There is a claim that custom cards are ready/ready soon, but they can't talk about them yet.

This does not make sense, if for example the EVGA or Zotac etc. cards will come out on the 27th...

How are we supposed to know which is good? If the reviews for them are under NDA?

We just have to guess based on the 980ti coolers?

I assume all the cards on the 27th will be either FE, or reference cards with a 2/3 fan cooler on them.

And anything like gigabyte G1, asus or classified etc. with better power on them, will be out in 1-2 months?

Classy's just seem overpriced now the k|ngp|ns are the only binned cards.

I'm kind of bored of the EVGA line-up it just got a bit ridiculous - they seem to just keep splurging new fancy models on top of fancy models - is there a "classified kingpin superclocked plus plus" model yet?

Agreed, above the ones with a backplate and decent cooler it just gets daft, classy is the same price as a hybrid!

With the EVGA step up program, does it have to be on their list?

For example if I got an EVGA ACX, then wanted to upgrade to a better one... I could only do that if it is on their step up list? How do you know what will be on the list?

Having owned windforce 460's, 670's, 780's and msi 650 and the twin frozr Ti in sig. The coolers on all of theese cards have been consistently good. The msi being a good bit quieter due to using two larger fans.
