EgyptAir flight from Paris to Cairo missing

guys, please be mindful a lot of people have died, try and resist from stupid comments - no infractions have been given for deleted posts but from this point on there will be

if it was a bomb..whats the point of setting it off over the ocean?

if you want to cause massive damage, you set it off as it flies over a large population centre causing most damage...why wait until you are out over the med near your destination?

Or airport for that matter surely would have more impact

Bomb at altitude, decompression, good chance to take plane out completely, bomb at low altitude, damage, no decompression, plane might land sucessfully, no AA.

That said, we still have no idea if it was a bomb, so speculation is merely speculation.

Just maybe a massive right or left engine explosion due to a default in the engine. I am not an engineer but I know all jets can fly on one engine.

Also no mayday so I think bomb but we will see.
Sabotage maybe or a massive structural fault, for it to spin on one wing so to say 22K ft, then bomb or what I have said.

RIP to everyone aboard! :(

My bum is twitching as my missus and daughter is to fly to Dubia in August and well the mind thinks. :(

i really hope its not the bomb planted from paris airport :(

if so then they found a new way or new bomb material undetected that we are not aware of

Makes you wonder if there was a shuffle of some sort within the **** pit,Because the plane suddenly goes 90 degrees left ,starts to fall then does a hard 360 towards the right then looses altitude again before disappearing.

I mean surely if it had been a bomb it wouldn't have done the above...it would have remained its course as usual then just disappeared from radar.

How can you possibly come to that conclusion, without knowing the size and power of any potential explosive device and where it was located and the impact it had on the pilots controls?

Equally you're much more likley to survive a car crash

This is not actually statistically true, most people survive plane crashes.

"In fact, the odds of a plane crash are one for every 1.2 million flights, with odds of dying one in 11 million. Your chances of dying in a car or traffic accident are one in 5,000. Astoundingly, even if you are aboard one of the one in 1.2 flights that crash, 95.7 percent of passengers survive."

Most deaths are by serious faults, error or explosions. Of those survivable the pilots have had typically some degree of control of the plane even if its limited, and providing they dont completely spaz out, can limit the loss of life..
