I'm starting to hate Ramsey more than Joffrey... and I didn't think that would be possible.

Just finished my re-watch of series 1. My god I hope ramsey dies in a more painful and drawn out way than the disspointment that was joffreys end. The first series re-watch has reinstated my hatred for Jamie and Cersei.

Neds end re-boiled my blood :D

To be fair Cersei tried to stop that happening.

Yes but everything else in that series she was an utter ****. Still dissapoints me they didn't kill Jamie when Rob had him captured. Send his head to Kings landing in return. Back then Sansa was a whinging ginger, no one would have missed her.

who'd miss sansa now? She's the weakest character of all the "main" characters. Just about all the other characters have went through fire and hell in their Game of Thrones "journey". Sansa has had some hardship but her character doesn't seem to change much from "waif spoilt princess type" unless its a subtle change i guess.

Sansa is much higher different now to when it started. She has matured and become a cynical realist who wants to take back Winterfell with or without John. How is that not a change?

Sansa's character is developing into one of the best in the show now. She's the one with the steel, her and Jon back in Stark clothes is awesome.

How do you get that impression? From one conversation she had with Jon?

Well i'm still waiting for that "steel" to show itself in her character. Not convinced by her at all. Maybe its the actress i dunno.

It seems to be pretty obvious to everyone except you that she has changed as a result of her horrible experiences with Joffrey and Ramsey. Maybe you're just not so perceptive with these things. :p

I have to ask: what exactly do people expect? That she will strap on armour and sword and go smiting? That would be stupid and completely unrealistic. The role of women in worlds like this were very limited, and she has almost no cards to play except being a Stark. As for gaining steel, I'll remind you that she has survived both the Lannisters and the Boltons. Hardly a weakling.

im 100% with you on this, not a fan of the character or actress. one of the worst in the show imo, she starts of dumb and naive and ends up in the whole joffery situation which is pretty uninteresting to watch, it's just her crying as she gets emotional tortured and slapped around for a couple of seasons.

then finally they have little finger rescue here and she goes through a bit of a change and it looks likes shes learning from little finger how to become a manipulator and then guess what he dumps here off at winterfell. I thought she was going to be a bit of a trojan horse, manipulating the other northerners to her side and taking down the boltons on her own from the inside but nope the characters just regressed into the damsel in distress again getting emotionally tortured and then raped.....

then theon comes to her rescue and they escape just to get rescued by brienne. they'll probably have her getting captured by little finger again when he goes north.....such a weak character. just occured to me that she got rescued by the hound in one of the earlier seasons as well (tyrion as well kinda). whenever she's in a bad situation another character always gets her out of it, it's never her talking her way out like say a tyrion.

edit. o and little finger saved her when his wife wanted to throw her out the moon door as well.

she certainly changed the moment she lied to cover little finger's arse when he was put on trial after that moon door incident, she started becoming much more assertive, much less little princess like from the moment she was in the Eyrie

Last two episodes have been fillers. We are ALREADY half way through (almost) and well still not much has happened so far...
I'd say more has happened in the first 2 episodes than usually does, but yeah the alst 2 have been fillers. Par for the course though. Every season is 8 fillers, crazy 9th, then a 10th that is better than the first 8 but can't match 9.

I certainly wouldn't say that it was filler, that's the wrong description, there's been plenty of setup and establishing for larger events.

Quit whinging, masses of things have happened. If you want slow progress go read the books, 12000 pages later and you won't be anywhere near as far along as we are now.

Stannis confirmed dead.
Chap in the iron islands dead.
The whole of Dorne in rebellion under new management.
New management in the North when father kills son, and a boy becomes a gift.
Jon snow, dead then alive again.
Dany takes the dothraki.
Tyrion shows the problems of trying to rule the middle east ;)
Brienne rescues Sansa.
Arya becoming no one.
Bran becoming a tree. Flashbacks galore!
King lands about to get messy, where zombies walk, and cersei attempts to scheme yet again.
The faith militant becoming more irksome.
The knights of the vale prepare to march for the first time since roberts rebellion.
Tormond Giantsbane smitten ;)

Lots of events have transpired.

Fillers? The last two episodes have been great. Maybe not the most action, but certainly the pulling together of storylines.

I don't want GoT for the action I watch it for the rich story. The action is a bonus, otherwise Spartacus is just as good (it's not).

Agrees, it's really amusing to read peoples views on "nothing happening". It usually seems to be the types for whom subtlety and complexity of story and characterisation get a bit lost in the face of wanting noisy action and battles every episode. Bless. :D
