Most of my hardware is Asus, and I have always pronounced it A Suss (or Ace Us). Twice in the last week I have heard it pronounced Az Ooze!

Which is correct?

Az Ooze is how it's pronounced on TV adverts and therefore is probably the "correct" way of saying it but I always say A Suss.

It's a hard one to write phonetically but I've always said it with the emphasis on the A and then Soos / Suss.

I believe the company name is derived from the Pegasus of myth and legend, so think of how that sounds, but then emphasise the A.

I've always pronounced it "AY-SUS", but did see an explanation from the company a few years ago that the name is actually from the end of the word "Pegasus", which they pronounced in American as "Pega-Zeus", hence they believe it's pronounced "Ay-Zeus" or "Ay-soos".

Which is why they're in my list of companies who pronounce their own name incorrectly - along with Huawei (I pronounce it "Huh-way", they pronounce it "Way-way"), and Dacia (to me they're "Day-see-a", they pronounce it "Dat-cha"). I am obviously correct! :D

might as well get the other one out of the way while you are at it.

ASRock..

A.S. Rock v ASRock, i hear both used so i tend to use the model number when asking.

Fact is this goes on with so many products and brand names, i just go by what the company deems the correct pronunciation is for instance nike is pronounced ni-key, nvidia Ti cards are pronounced tie, and asus is aZOOS
