Which Actors/Actresses do you not like but other love

Seth Rogen - The least funny 'comedy' actor I've ever had the displeasure to watch. I don't know what people saw in Bad Nighbours. I had to switch it off after 20 minutes, purely because I wanted to punch the telly every time Seth Rogen breathed, moved and especially spoke ...

Agreed on this, also that film 'knocked up', the base premise that any woman would go for the character she did, just because she is utterly hammered it beyond me. If you looked like Seth Rogan, and were poor, you wouldn't score above a 3 in a woman, no matter the drunkenness, or drugs you fed her.

A truly punchable face.

-edit Agree on Will Ferrell, and Adam Sandler

Jai Courtney,
Jack O'Connell.

Haven't watched a film I've enjoyed either of these in but they seem pretty popular with the Ladies.

Courtney is beyond redemption, but frankly, I do not think anyone ever anywhere said he was remotely good, so doesn't really qualify under the OP. Everyone knows he is &*^%e.

O'Connell was in Starred up, which was a decent watch, and he plays that kind of character very well.

I seem to be assuming a very defensive role in this thread...

This thread is supposed to be about actors that people do not like for whatever reason, not actors that people think are overrated....

I'd agreed with your defensive position, if it was supposed to be about actors that people think are overrated. :)

Thread's got confused anyway.

I'd forgotten about Knocked Up. Another film that was switched off within the first 1/2 hour.

Can't say I'm a fan of Will Ferrell or Adam Sandler either, though on the plus side, I've actually managed to sit through some of their films.

Jennifer Lawrence, she seems to be the femme actor of the moment and always seems to phone it in! Can't stand that mug!

I agree with you hear, i dont think she's good as some people make her out to be and miles away from how good she thinks she is.

Jack Black.
I don't know why. He annoys me. Like he's trying to hard. I think I probably did like him until I saw The Jackal.

I think i know what you mean, i look forward to some movies then get put off once i know he's in it.

Plenty I hate but the two main ones I hate are two planks you could put together and make a bridge across a fast flowing river they are so wooden;

Keanu Reeves - one expression, one tone of voice
Kirsten Stewart - one expression, one tone of voice

They are two sides of the same full and grimy coin.

I forgot her. I cant stand her in any movie and your right about the acting, watching her in a movie and paint dry is about the same,

No exception at all.

Matt Damon. The thing is he is a very good actor and he is in some great films but I have to force myself to see past him because, he just gives me the creeps. For some reason he makes my skin crawl (for a couple of films it was quite effective and added to the film because he was playing someone creepy).

Hopefully he make a horror movie.

....too many decent films to bother listing.
For me this isn't the point of the thread. I'd already specifically said he is very good and in great films. I just don't like him, the thread isn't about bad/overrated actors. It's about ones you don't like :p As below:

This thread is supposed to be about actors that people do not like for whatever reason, not actors that people think are overrated....

Agreed

Hopefully he make a horror movie.
:) His creepiness worked really well for me in 'The Talented Mr Ripley' and 'The Departed'. So, not horror movies but where it worked in his favour.

Randomly referring to the old Carry On films here, Charles Hawtrey, the guy just gave me the creeps.

James Corden - can't stand the guy.

Morgan Freeman - great actor but his recent stuff is so type-cast it's getting annoying.

Russell Crowe - similar issues as with Freeman, good actor but getting type-cast. Best roles were Gladiator (obvs) and thought he was good in Man of Steel (one of the best things about the film, which isn't saying much!)

Jack Black - just why.

That much is true but most of his films since then have been epic.

Very true.

I used to really dislike Leonardo di Caprio in his early roles (around Titanic time), but he has had the ability and intelligence to spread out and do other things, I think the first thing I saw him in where I liked him was "Catch me if you can", which also starred another actor who started out doing some very "samey" (and often poor) films, but pushed his limits and started doing a very wide variety of roles.

I much prefer that sort of actor to the likes of the "action hero" types who basically settle into a particular type of movie and play the same character again, and again, and again until they're about 20 years too old to be playing that role and still they're doing it.
