How much is your water bill?

About £30 a month for 2 of us in a 2 bedroom place.

That reminds me, I really should take a meter reading, it's been ages since I paid them lol

In my last couple of places it used to be about £21 a month. Single, two bed flat and currently with Anglian Water.

Now it's all over the place. The last bill seemed to settle down, but by my standards the first was absurd and I even got a slightly snotty letter from them reminding me that I apparently lived in one of the driest areas of the country. I'll wait for the next one to see if something's amiss.

Water supply is maybe 30 quid a month but sewage, which is dealt with separately can be massively expensive as we have 4 pumps (shared) that we need to service most years (1 per) and that is circa 500 quid but if one needs replacing, circa 3K!

Over the past 10 years we've used, on average, 120 m3 (cubic meters) PA

But our bills have risen 20%.

Privatisation has a lot to answer for. Given that water falls from the sky and is usually free.

£360 a year now- At my old house it was £135 a year - Had an almighty shock when we sold and rented for 18 month's -- £500 quid !!!!!! a year.

Just two of us and a garden.

Just bumping this after a search. I moved into a new house in March and just got a bill for the next year for £935(!). We don't have a meter here so for some reason the rates are absolutely crazy. I've requested a meter now, something I thought I'd never do!

£54 a month no meter. 3 bed semi and just two of us. It was around £15 in our flat and we don't use any more water. :(

My water supply apparently can't be metered at street level as it's shared between my neighbour and I. Annoying.

Request a survey for a meter, they told me on the phone this morning that if I couldn't have a meter for some reason then based on living in a 5 bed detached house I would be put on a rate of around £440 a year, that's compared to my current unmetered rates bill of £935 a year.

Always worth getting your metre checked. Not long after we moved into our new house our bills rocketed to well over £100 per month. Thankfully the meter faulty and we were refunded just over £1500 and a new meter installed.
