Dell S2716DG - Dells first G-sync

I ordered mine on 28'th of May along with a 1080 FTW, the money has been taken out of my account, I've now just received an e-mail whilst at work that it's out of stock and the price is just shy of £500...not impressed.

You should still get it at the price you've already paid when it comes back in stock (unless they've already refunded you?). It's a great monitor and I'm impressed with it, but I definitely wouldn't pay the usual price of £495 for it! Glad I got it for £389 before they ran out of stock!

Just a bit of a PSA, on Thursday 5 popped up on B Grade at £330. I had one delivered yesterday and its perfect, no issues apart from a thumb print on the screen which cleaned off easy and a broken seal on the box!

They had all sold out within 24 hours but worth keeping your eyes out. Dell will still give you the 3 year warranty from manufacturing date :)

Just out of curiosity, what is the manufacture date on the box of your one? Mine was manufactured November 2015, the warranty started with Dell on the 22nd of Jan and I only bought the monitor last week (brand new).

It's a great monitor, especially when you get it on offer or manage to pick up perfect B-grade like yourself. I'd never pay full asking price for it though...

I just joined the Dell club. omfg what a monitor with my 1080 games are now unreal!!! So impressed and a nice looking monitor.

With gsync ive enabled it in the nvidia control panel and turned of v sync in game. I presume thats all i need to do? I also set refresh rate to 144hz.

I had to order direct with dell , my date is Feb 2016 for info.

My understanding is the warranty begins as soon as it leaves the Dell warehouse. If it sits in a 3rd party sellers warehouse for 6 months before being sold you lose 6 months of warranty.

I could be wrong but I am pretty sure that's what I read when I was looking into warranties.

.

Just make sure that you set your adapter profile to 144hz as well. That caught me out for a couple of days as the monitor said G-Sync was working but i was FPS capped in games to 60fps. You can set the monitor refresh rate in the Nvidia control panel or via the Windows Display Settings/Advanced Display Settings/Display Adapter Properties window.

Yeah i have already switched it to 144hz im sure i will double check.

Apart from it being super silky and high fps how do you see the monitor has GSYNC actually working?

I was sick of pc gaming on a big tv so Ordered one today on b grade. Has some spare vouchers so only cost me about 280 hope there are no issues with it. Mines coming Tomorrow

I was torn between that and the benq ultra wide that was on b grade. The lack of support for 21.9 was a bit of a worry but 35 inch curved monitor looked epic so hope i have done the right thing. Just the higher res and g sync plus dells customer service just about swung it.

My only worry is i only have two 770's the 2 gb ones so i think they will struggle on newer games. So i will be saving for a new card next i think :)

But will give me a excuse to play some older games that i never got around to playing.

Hows the monitor playing at 1920x1080.

This will be my first 1440p monitor, so I can't give you my personal advice - But from what I hear, you'll want to play in native 1440p resolution as 1080p is meant to look a little rubbish. But if researching for monitors the past few weeks has taught me anything, it's that opinions vary. What may be great for some, may be terrible for others :p

Yeah that's what i figured :)

The main game i play now is over watch so hoping i can get away with that :) I have read if you hit around the 100 fps mark g sync will do the rest

I'm curious to see how my 780 does with overwatch at 1440p. I'm guessing I should keep the monitor set to 144hz and hope for gsync to work miracles.

I think you will be fine with overwatch i am expecting decent frame rates with low/ medium settings and the game still looks awesome even at low.

I am really excited first major thing i bought pc wise for 3 years

any rumours of dell doing a ips version of this monitor? I think it would do even better- although maybe not since the rise in price will cluster it with the rest, shame the price has risen so much this last month, nearly 500 quid! if you got one under 400 then it was a great deal!
