Hi guys, I've got a 120GB SSD and I'm wanting to clone my HDD over to it. WinDirStat drive analysis tool is telling me I've managed to delete everything except 40GB of data, but Windows is saying that I've only got 193GB free from a 500GB HDD. What could be taking up all that space? I've ran CCleaner, Defragged the drive, ran windows disk clean up. Answers on a stamped, addressed envelope, P.O. Box PLZHALPMEH!

Run a chkdsk should recalculate free space

w00t fixed it.

Apparently my System Restore backups directory was set to a maximum size of 50% of my entire hard drive and was taking up 230GB of data! O.o

If you're using Avast, modify it and uninstall the "NG feature". For some reason that forces system restore to be 50%.
