Man, Seems I am the one holding everything up :/, My accountant is yet to receive a letter that was sent a week ago.

Time to chase chase chase.

On the up we are going back around the house tonight, Just double check stuff we didn't prior to signing and measure windows etc ready for when we move in as we will need curtains etc sorted.

and just to talk to the Vendors a bit more, make sure they are happy with progress and what not.

Had a call from our estate agent today and he mentioned the people we want to buy from might consider breaking the chain by renting or living with kids due to a lack of property coming up at the moment. I am putting that down to referendum nerves. After a bit of discussion with the wife i went back to the agent and said we would offer them an additional £5k if they would break the chain. Now waiting for a response but having offered full asking price and now a separate 5k sum to assist with their plans, there is nothing more we can do :(

Why? Why offer them more until you know what they are going to do?

Because we do not want to start from scratch with the sale of ours. Our buyer is only prepared to wait so long. This is an incentive hopefully.
Also i should have mentioned that we would want them to break the chain within a month maximum.

So after chasing my solicitor today , he tells me we exchange yesterday.. which is a great relief.. due to complete on Monday.. Next week or two I need to buy:
A washing machine, a Freezer, at least 2 beds and mattresses + bedding, sofas, probably some curtains, pots & pans, plates, cutlery, kettle, iron, TV + sound system, PS4, hoover, sort out broadband and phoneline, lawn mower and that probably only scratches the surface :-) oh and probably a new graphics card and 34inch widescreen monitor to celebrate

It's been 9 weeks since our offer was accepted and our solicitors have finally received paperwork so they can start searches.

9 ****** weeks!!!

Completing in the morning.....cant wait!

All the hard graft will hopefully be worth it...

Bit late to post, potato pic of the house, work started the day i completed so couldn't really get a good picture

Need to clean those reeds/leaves on front of the house. Although i am now broke, i'm over the moon as its pretty much got everything i would want in a house (i.e a double garage!) :)

12 weeks since we offered on our new place and accepted an offer on ours back in March sometime. Solicitors dicking about and full of excuses whilst we all slip deeper into mental illness.

The joys of moving! :p

agreed looks like a great house, kill all that stuff that is growing all over it though!

Looks great, i'd be thinking very hard about allowing those plants to grow up the house though.

Agreed, had a look earlier and they are managing to penetrate the bricks, although superficial, need to put an end to them pronto.

Tenants were in the house before we bought it so obviously they didn't give a monkeys about it

Confirmation that the last of the searches come back today. Hope to get the contracts signed and exchanged next week. The target date for both parties was the 28th of June.

May just make it!

We completed today, demo meeting on Thursday, keys Friday.

Already started the process of getting bills and utilities swapped over to the new address.

Big props to our builder (Miller) who not only have us in a month early, been really good and informative throughout the build, and helped with some off requests from us, eg: draw cable installed and getting the SN of the openreach fibre modem sn, I should have 300mb within 2 weeks :D

Oh, guy on the phone said its £30 per month when ordering over the phone only, no gift card, but I'd rather take the cheaper cost any day

so after 33 years in the same house (since i was 8) im in the early stages of getting the following house:

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-59756774.html

paying cash.

i know house prices differ up and down the country so i was wondering
if you guys thought this was decent enough for £200k.

our house sold in 7 days (3rd june 2016) and on the day we accepted an offer the people we are buying from accepted our offer on theirs.

had our "home buyers" survey done on venders home last week and had our buyers done on ours same day so hopefuly hear this week some time.
the surveyor only spent an hour looking around, said it was well maintained, took a picture of the garden and went lol.

" If " both surveys come back ok, i guess this means things really start to move then ?

Put this in the items I've bought thread but forgot to put it in here:
