**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

Just to make you all aware, there are many cheap S7 for £400 because they are grey imports, not EU models.

You can check this by checking the model numbers, non EU models they are selling are SM-G930FD, EU models are SM-G930F.

Not a problem as they all work fine in the UK but Samsung will not honour any warranty if it's a non EU model. Therefore you won't get 2 years Samsung manufacturers warranty.
Also do these grey imports from france have the exynos or the Snapdragon 820 processor ?

Have installed a few CPU apps to try and find what's lagging and hogging battery, average CPU usage is 40-60% ish, have noticed core 7 and 8 aren't doing anything or show as not enabled in other apps. Any ideas ?

Just tried Nova Launcher for the first time too and it seems pretty decent. I assume it takes up less resources han TouchWiz?

Any recommendations on a keyboard to try?
Typing in Swype seems to have gone down the pan for me.

Google keyboard is nice but lack of prediction in certain apps. Messenger, chrome etc is a bit annoying. Works fine with Swype.

With ebay and paypal's attitude towards sellers and the fact that the french seller has 99.9% good fb means there have been no problems or that when a problem has arisen the vendor sorted it out to the buyers satisfaction, 99.9% pretty much means they have even accommodated the buyer when the buyer was totally wrong.

Iirc the 2 year warranty is from Samsung and eu warranty law provides good protection.

The camera on this just keeps on impressing me

Got back DBrand skin in today, didn't realise you had to order the front parts separately :o

Really easy to apply and adds a nice subtly grip to it.

Saw this the other day in the US (time for an upgrade). We can all agree this is a very decent phone to get these days? Don't want to switch to an iphone and actually really like the looks and feel of this.

Any major differences between the edge and normo?

Yes definitely.

Differences are bigger screen and battery.

I just saw the difference between 5.1 and 5.5. I much prefer the smaller screen size.
Just noticed Droid Z (force) is now coming this summer (currently have a droid which I've been very happy with until the last few weeks when the battery is dying on me.

Upgrade now or wait.....but then another phone will be coming out soon I guess...

Hi guys, i'd like to flash my handset with the BTU firmware, do I need to put the files into AP, BL, CP and CSC? or just AP?

its now been a few months since the s7 edge came out,
I was wondering if anyone knew of some good slim case that can also offer protection,

does anyone know if a can get a good screen protector which will really protect the screen

Spigen Thin Fit for thin, good case.

All the info you need is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/official-stock-firmware-update-odin-t3335065

You want HOME_CSC (linked in the thread), not CSC, as the latter will wipe your phone.

Thanks very much. All done.

I'm just a little confused with baseband, build numbers and FW numbers. I downloaded the UK's latest BTU from Sammobile however, I want to make sure it's correct.

When I check for software updates I get the following:
Latest SW installed: XXU1APF2 / BTU1APE2 / XXU1APEQ

Can someone please check their official unbranded UK device and let me know if you have the same please? I'm new to the Samsung world of FW.

Thanks.

Got my phone yesterday, by luck. I ordered an S7 from Flubit for £429 but they sent me an S7 Edge instead :) Well pleased.

One thing, it doesn't have FM radio. I guess there isn't a way to enable this? Not sure if this due to the chipset, I do have Tunein Radio Pro but I like FM radio for when I have a slow internet connection.
