Was talking to a guy last night that acts alongside De Niro

A colleague of mine went on a set visit for a film called 'Fury' a few years ago. One of the ADs was showing him around and was going to show him one of the tanks but he said something along the lines of "but Shia LaBeouf is in there". When my colleague essentially said "so what" the AD explained that Mr LB was essentially quite deranged, constantly in character and had ****ed off everyone else on the production because he was sleeping, eating, ****ting (#2s..) and staying in the tank basically 24/7. As such- he stank, the tank stank for all the other actors and he was genuinely not a nice person to encounter. So they didn't.

There we go, I improved this thread for everyone who actually wanted a "celebrity story" :)

Worst "I talked to someone who knows a celebrity" thread ever... at least you could have told us something interesting or amusing to go with it. :p

lol... this pretty much sums up what I thought the response I would :D :p

Just because I didn't meet the man himself, or have an epic drinking session, getting invited on a shark fishing trip with the Italian mob, doesn't mean it wasn't cool. Sometimes the internet makes things like this seem like nothing.

I was excited to share it as stuff like this doesn't happen everyday for me. I guess you all have real out of this world daily lives  :p

Scam> That was a pretty cool story. The one I got told was a scene in an elevator with said person and De Niro, but as the film is unreleased I don't think that's the right thing to talk about it.

That he acted alongside Robert De Niro...

You are missing the still acts alongside him :p

I will work on my story telling skills next time, remembering to swap back to British English for things like "Whom".

I just went out for ice cream with some new friends, and ended up talking to this guy for half and hour. I was excited about it anyway.. at least it wasn't a normal day of work/sleep/work/sleep.

If you get involved with acting classes you'll meet plenty of people who've acted along side or directed famous people, you'll get to work with or be taught by them... and some of them will have had decent enough screen time in well known stuff themselves.

Just a suggestion if you think that having a 30 min conversation with someone involved in that was fun and interesting... why not take it further yourself? I met a game of thrones actress a while ago as she was working on something with someone else I knew from an acting class.

That's not a bad idea. I would say though that I am not a good actor, and it isn't something I'd thought of pursuing. Although saying that, neither had this guy, it kinda happened by accident to him.

Thanks dowie, I'll look into it, although I think the hound from GoT is better looking that me lol.

I know the guy who played Scar the predator in the original AvP movie. Also plays Wun Wun the giant in GOT.

Edit he is 7' 1" if you are interested.

The acting is only part of it, you need a good director too. A bad actor can look better with a good director and vice versa.

Actually, it's just made you look like a pedantic prat, as with all members who post specifically to correct minor grammatical errors.

Actually, I enjoyed the grammar post more than the OP's non-post.

RIMMER: Anyway, to cut a long story short I threw a five and a four which beat his three and a two, another double six followed by a double four and a double five. After he'd thrown a three and a two I threw a six and a three.

LISTER: Rimmer, can't you tell the story is not gripping me? I'm in a state of non-grippedness, I am completely smegging ungripped. Shut the smeg up.

RIMMER: Don't you want to hear the Risk story?

LISTER: That's what I've been saying for the last fifteen minutes.

RIMMER: But I thought that was because I hadn't got to the really interesting bit...

LISTER: What really interesting bit?

RIMMER: Well! Then I rolled a five and a two...
