** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

Hi there

Right guys I am away now until late Friday, OcUK has a lot of shipments inbound so sit tight we are working to ship outstanding orders.

I shall be at a NVIDIA conference where I shall be meeting top level NVIDIA execs and CEO's are all board partners. Rest assured I shall be pushing them all very hard for more shipments too OcUK to clear this backlog as quick as possible and get more and more lines showing in stock. :)

thanks a lot for all your updates. much appreciated.

can you please tell Nvidia execs that
a) release of 1080/1070, from a customer perspective, was a disaster
b) they used last "life" with these silly prices
c) they better make 1080ti worthwille

:) cheers

i would say NVIDIA need to send AIB's many Pallets of chips way Before release, so we can get AIB on launch day or a week after.

This launch has been worst for years even worst than 980s...

Gibbo, thank you for the repeated updates, keeping people informed and generally busting a gut to keep idiots like myself happy as best you could even through delays.
I know that you are just the face (or text) that we see but big heady thank you to all behind the scenes too. Now sod off to the Nvidia wossname, get rinsed, and badger them into realising that this release has been a cluster! (not OCuk fault).

Enjoy

Just heard from OC, apparently my position 16 yesterday wasn't true as my system build still doesn't have a card (Gaming x 1080).
Seeing as people at 24 and 26 got dispatched i'm pretty fed up as I was expecting it to at least start to be being built by now!

I really don't understand the pre-order queue system at OC if you only ordered yesterday and have already had yours. I ordered over a week ago and mine still hasn't been dispatched.

I think (although I'm not 100% sure) that if someone switches from one card to another they keep their place in the queue and the rest are moved down on the list. That's what I've gathered reading some threads anyway.

Yep - switched today from FTW to GLH and CS confirmed queue position based on when you ordered original card. You don't go to the back of the queue.

I don't like the sound of switched the card and jump in front of the queue at all but at least i preordered mine on 27th so it won't be so bad .

for example if 10 of MSI X will be arrive tomorrow and i decide to switched to MSI X then i likely get the card and the one guy who was waiting on the queue for a while won't get it.

It's a pretty farcical situation........can blame the immediate monetary charge model for it.
What might seem fair to half the buying market, is completely unfair to the other half.

Would probably agree with the latter all things considered.

Hello again OC!

I ordered a 1080 STRIX on the 27th of May, in the evening. I then submitted a WebNote on the 17th of June enquiring about queue number etc.

I have still heard absolutely nothing!

Can someone please chase this up? I have waited patiently and can't get away from work to phone in, hence the WebNote!

Much obliged.

Have fun, Gibbo! If you see the EVGA squad there, tell them to get a move on and ship these FTW's!

And it will probably be me... Don't do it! :(

Yeah it's not ideal, but at the same time it's very punishing if you order card X from supplier Y, and even though every other supplier is shipping units almost daily, supplier Y doesn't feel like it for some reason, or supplier Y sends everything to the US instead of the EU.

At least this way being an early pre-order means something I guess.

By the sounds of things MSI Gaming X are coming in nicely now though, back orders for these should be getting filled.

Well i am going to wait until the end of july for the 1080 classified, if it slips any later i will cancel and bye bye EVGA first time buyer as well for this brand.
