**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

Thanks very much. All done.

I'm just a little confused with baseband, build numbers and FW numbers. I downloaded the UK's latest BTU from Sammobile however, I want to make sure it's correct.

When I check for software updates I get the following:
Latest SW installed: XXU1APF2 / BTU1APE2 / XXU1APEQ

Can someone please check their official unbranded UK device and let me know if you have the same please? I'm new to the Samsung world of FW.

Thanks.

Anyone please? Much appreciated.

Yup, same here. That's the latest BTU firmware, you can tell from the Android security patch level, it will say 1 June 2016

Cheers buddy. Yes it does so that's good then.

It qas unlocked to start with but the BTU fw allows wifi calling on EE.

Just got back to the office with a brand new S7 (black/grey colour).
Have ordered a wireless charger and a 128gb card.
Do I need to get a case (i hate having cases) or at least a screen protector? The lady was trying to sell me there's "the front and back are made of glass so they are prone to breaking"......my previous phone had neither and dropped multiple times with no worries.

Anything else I need to do to make it more swiftly and what not :p

She was right. They are extremely delicate.

She forgot to mention they are actually made from Sugar Glass. I would highly recommend a case bro. I broke my rear camera lens as well. I have heard these phones don't take to well too being dropped.

I don't understand people who buy such expensive phones and never protect them in a case. Especially with the amount of people you see on the street with cracked screens.

Ive got my S7 Edge here and its not leaving my house until my case arrives.

A screen can still crack in a case. it's all down to luck/physics involved. You either get a crack or you don't.

I have a case, I don't use it. The phone feels nicer without it and it's slimmer in the pocket too.

Besides, I have phone insurance, as do many others. That's what it's there for!

Never bothered with phone insurance. Just another bill I don't need to pay. As warranty is there for a reason if a phone starts giving me problems.

If I do happen to crack my screen etc then its my own fault for being clumsy and careless. So I deal with the consequence and buy another phone.

But so far so good, never broken a phone. Maybe I have been lucky?!?!!?:)

No need for car insurance then, if you crash it's your own fault! Mine is £7.50 a month, but I get blue rewards, so with that in mind it's actually £2.50 a month as well as other benefits.

I've actually used mine once with the Z3 for a faulty screen and because the repair centre messed up (by messing me about and I complained) I ended up getting a free extra Z3 which I sold for a few hundred. It all pays off in the end in your favour.

PEQ is the latest UK release, so no need to flash it again.
