Ebay dispute- DPD screwed up? Need advice

I am because I don't believe a company like PayPal would allow such an easily exploitable loophole to exist. You could quite easily set something up between friends to defraud them!

Wait, you do know that eBay is the auction website and PayPal handles the payment right? You list your item on eBay and PayPal ensures you receive the money from the buyer. You will owe the money to PayPal.

Should someone with such a flawed understanding even be using these websites?!

What you believe is irrelevant. What you've said probably would work to some extent as well.

Also, eBay themselves do issue the refund, they just do it through PayPal.

You are kind of dumb, aren't ya?

I have "ditched&switched" a few times on ebay. Ebay and PP are two separate companies. Ebay will refund the buyer based on THEIR T&C's NOT paypal. The company Ebay will
do the refund. My paypal account will be fine. This is NOT a paypal issue regardless of paying being used as money transmitter. Been there done that dog. If a charge back comes then of course that's another thing.

Yep I must be dumb, I would have adequately insured my package though :D You deserve everything you get.

The case is raised through eBay (the buyer will say it's not been received) and they decide the outcome. Your PayPal balance will go negative so of course it's a PayPal issue. PayPal will refund the buyer from funds in your account and if you have already withdrawn the funds they will look to recover them from you (to what extent is debatable it seems).

I have been on the end of 2 items this week that I haven't received from an eBay transaction. I know full well how it works.

No business can operate with these kind of loopholes, they must successfully reclaim the money from some people else people could make a killing from it! Maybe you got lucky?

Well, I wouldn't put it like that. I've been the victim of scammers and refused to pay up when they won.

That's called projection and like they say a liar never believes anyone else!
No doubt many if not most of these so called 'scammers' were probably perfectly decent normal people, if the evidence in this thread is anything to go by I'd wager that it was your incompetence and lack of common sense that caused the problems !

Because most people panic when they see debt collection letters and convince themselves that their credit record will be damaged by companies seeking money from them.

This is the principle that debt collection companies work on.

setter,

Thanks for the infraction.

So people calling me a scammer is not an insult/personal attack? Have you warned them as well?
You are doing yourself absolutely no favours at all. People think you're a scanner because of what you've said.

It's not a personal attack, it's a response to how you've been acting.

Parcel 2 go has a clause in their T&C.

if a parcel is lost or damaged due to driver negligence parcel2go will be liable for the items replacement.

I used this to fight my own case when they lost a Clio 172 Decat

where is that clause? can't find it in their T&C's

You really should have paid for a signature delivery.

I have, dpd only do signature deliveries but no in this instance.

I vote OP to be banned. Clearly a troll post as he joins May 2014 and then solely creates this thread?

Anyone else seconds this motion?

It's not a personal attack, it's a response to how you've been acting.

Same goes for calling someone dumb who clearly doesn't understand something. It's a response to how someone has replied.

What sickens me is the amount of people walking around as if they have a bible in their hand, trying to "show to others" what should be done and what is right. I bet ya'll have never done something "immoral" or "illegal" and you are the cleanest knife in the draw.

I ain't no scammer but a double dip is basically free money. If it's free, guess what? it's free!

I do. People have been trying to help you but you have proven to be completely obnoxious and claimed you would have "doubled down". That's the actions of someone who is dishonest.

Calling me dumb was a personal attack but you continue to show yourself up so I didn't bite. I can't imagine you or this thread will be around much longer ;)

People have pointed out how stupid you were not to insure the item to save a few pounds. It was you who then said you would have taken advantage of the situation. The thread was generally quite helpful until then.

Everyone makes a mistake from time to time but it appears you aren't particularly honest.

So it's as I stated above. PayPal refunds the buyer then tells the seller that they owe money, but because they have technically created this debt, they have a very hard time legally chasing the money. A private company cannot create a debt like this. Sometimes if you're selling on ebay and you get scammed, you've got to be willing to walk away from a PayPal account. The most they do is send you letters unless you've actually defrauded them, which is another matter entirely.

PayPal won't chase the debt themselves they will sell the debt to a debt recovery company. Its them who will be sending the letters.

I got scammed a few years ago and never sold a thing on ebay again. Even though paypal admitted it was a scam, they still kindly put my account into a negative four hundred pounds and refused to budge. So the debt collectors started calling and harassing and it was all pretty annoying. They sent cards telling me mr green or mr black would be calling and of course no one ever did. I never paid a penny back and nothing affected my credit rating and 6 months later all contact from the debt collectors ceased. Paypal are a joke, go let them recover the money and forget about it.

People seem to be overly concerned with "what if the buyer is legit?"

How the hell can I establish that? All I know is that I am without a laptop
that got delivered successfully according to DPD and a buyer who says "nothing received". I am sorry but am keeping the money at all costs.

No signature taken? so what? Anyone can sign anything, it wouldn't mean the slightest

Infraction please for this guy. Why wasn't his comment removed Setter?

You can call someone a dick but not dumb? I did no name calling until i was provoked. Amazingly how "impartial" admins prove to be.

They're being as impartial as needed to someone who is quite openly admitting to being a thief I would imagine, attempting to profit from a mistake so you get 2x the amount of cash and leaving the buyer £850 out of pocket only means you're one type of person, untrustworthy and dishonest.

Wish I knew your ebay username so I could send this thread in, its pretty much admitting fraud.
