Ebay dispute- DPD screwed up? Need advice

PayPal won't chase the debt themselves they will sell the debt to a debt recovery company. Its them who will be sending the letters.

If you look into it a bit, some of the "debt collectors" are just departments at PayPal.

I got scammed a few years ago and never sold a thing on ebay again. Even though paypal admitted it was a scam, they still kindly put my account into a negative four hundred pounds and refused to budge. So the debt collectors started calling and harassing and it was all pretty annoying. They sent cards telling me mr green or mr black would be calling and of course no one ever did. I never paid a penny back and nothing affected my credit rating and 6 months later all contact from the debt collectors ceased. Paypal are a joke, go let them recover the money and forget about it.
Why would it do anything to your credit rating?

I knew it wouldn't affect anything but there seems to be a common misconception that this kind of situation can affect your credit rating. At least that is what I found when I went through it from talking to people. I should also say that trying to scam for double compensation is pretty low. If I were OP I would be trying to resolve things as best as possible for the buyer, there is no proof that he is scamming.

I've used parcel2go before. Ended up with a pretty similar story but instead of driver just leaving the package at the door he left the van open and some scrote stole a few of them mine included.

Parcel2go refunded me in the end due to DPDs negligence, DPD wouldn't pay out due to lack of insurance.

Much the same way as Diago. Originally claimed they weren't responsible but gave in in the end.

There is no proof that he isn't.

I ain't leaving the buyer empty handed. Ebay does. I am only riding things out and trying for a double dip. Buyer should chase ebay not me. Ebay awarded me the case.

I hope at the very least the mods ban you from ever having MM access.

What was your argument with them? what did you argue to get past the "but you didn't get insurance to cover against loss" line?

Disgusting.

Am I to be blamed for ebay awarding me the case?

I am not sure how "trusting" works but i did send you a message and "trusted" you i think

I must say, with all said and done, if the courier compensates me and buyer loses the appeal I shall refund his money however I shall travel to him(I ain't far away) to make sure
I ain't be taken for a ride. If I establish he is legit then yup, I'll pay up.
