You know you still have the points - they're just suspended for the next two years?

But in the letter it says that, if I do accept the fine it'll mean that the points will go on my license. It doesn't mention anything about the points whilst taking the course... any backup for this statement? I'll reread the letter...

Edit Someone who I ride with, said that you don't get points either. He did like 3 courses, one not that long ago. :p

Edit2 Gave my local police station a ring, you get no points after doing the course. :D

I was doing the speed limit, in till he was sat up my arse forcing me to speed up. I just snapped and twisted the throttle as far as it would go went to left lane and slowed right down. There were cars on the left, normally I would have just went to the left and slowed down.

It was late at night, he was so close his lights were dazzling me.. but I did 77mph in a 40 according to him. I don't remember what speed I Was actually doing though... That was at 1:30am or someting like that.

What was the offence on the letter? Are you actually being done for speeding, I didn't know they offered courses for anything other than that.

"The driver or a supervisor of the motor vehicle REG PLATE did commit the alleged offence of Drive a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road / in a public place without reasonable consideration to other users contrary to Contrary to section 3 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988."

I've an option of doing a course (What’s Driving Us) 4horus 15 minutes cost: £85 or Pay the fine £100 and 3 Penalty Points or Go to Court.

Learn something new everyday then I didn't know they offered courses for careless driving, but then they can now just issue on the spot fines for it so I suppose it makes sense.

Over 4 hours sitting down and listening to safety nazi talk, I fall asleep so easy on those presentations. Last time I remember how I felt asleep in college, some old woman came into talk to us about... I don't even remember. But, I think it was about our future etc.

We had a cool tutor, the next time there was a presentation she let us through fire exit to escape that presentation. She couldn't teach, everything she told us was so outdated... But people liked her for her character and those cheeky moves like the one with helping us escape those presentations on which I always felt asleep on. haha :p

Edit

I'll drink some dark coffee beforehand and feedback how the meeting went. Its in August, so 2 months wait time.

Nope, the points are cleared off... you don't get anything when you choose to do the course.

I think you'll find that if you reoffend within two years you'll get the points you would have got instead of doing the course, plus whatever they decided to prosecute you for at the time.

I think you'll find that is incorrect. You cannot be offered another course within 3 years but once you've completed a course that is that they cannot then go and add points on for that offence at a later stage.

Ic3 - don't even think about doing anything but taking the course, especially with you as a new rider :)

Today, I got rid of my rear chicken strips courtesy of countless German hairpins :D

Totally different experience compared to the UK motorways, isn't it?

I still remember when we were on the autobahn cruising at 100-105mph and 2 superbikes just flew past us like we were in a standstill. They were probably doing 183-186mph+ :D

Edit
The local biker group back when I was a kid in Poland use to go every year to 'Harz', if you're nearby there're some awesome twisty roads down there. I remember pictures showing a VHS camera stuck with tape to the tank and then watching the recording from it. :D
