its not a full sequence anyway, its just ~500k snps
a full sequence is still around a $1000

I had my rescue dogs DNA tested.

The 3 GSD crosses (siblings) turned out to be GSD X Bullmastiff and the other was American Pitbull x American Bulldog.

Interested in doing this one day, as my parents are convinced that we've got blood from the Spanish Armada in us, and I'd love to prove them wrong/right.

Not sure if those graphs that Glaucus posted would be able to tell that sort of thing though?

no wouldn't show something so precise.

you would need to do a proper tree for that digging through, birth, death, marriage, military certificates.

and no sending in pet thing wouldn't work. you get some basics as well, like hair colour, eye colour, ear wax type etc.

then all the "medical" stuff. which is debatable how useful it is.

I found it vaguely interesting.

I have as much Native American DNA as I have Unassigned………I also share the same Haplogroup as Warren Buffett – I’m expecting a decent Christmas present this year, he must’ve forgotten my birthday!

I chose 23andme at the time as they were the only ones that offered free access to the raw data for use in other DNA related endeavors.

I would be interested in this but don't have £125 to waste! I know I have some Jewish in me somewhere down the line and I also go really brown in the sun so think i must have a bit of a mix in me! Always thought I should have been born somewhere on the med and always get mistaken for Spanish or Italian when abroad!
