The usual journalists across England and Europe are saying we're pushing ahead with trying to sign Pogba. Real Madrid are balking at the price and offered somewhere in the region of £60m to Juventus, where as we've offered £80m and are prepared to go higher...

I'm all for it, but I don't think he's quite that good, yet.

If we manage to get rid of Benteke this summer for 30m the transfer committe will need a medal I'd be surprised if West ham pay that fee based on his form, if clubs offer less I'd take it pointless having a player who doesn't suit

Market value has shifted because of the new tv deal now though. £30m is the old £20m.

Does sound ludicrous, but where are they going to find replacement 1in2 and 1in3 strikers/forwards without spending similar money in the current market?

That assumes they score at they continue to score at that rate going forward, which is a big ask. Ighalo in particular was nothing more than a journeyman until last season.

Even in today's market I'm sure you can get better players than Deeney and Ighalo for £65-70m.

Pleased Deeney is staying put, both for Watford and Leicester. Sure he would have done alright for us but glad we've not spent £30m on someone like him.
