Brexit thread - what happens next

Musician Jarvis Cocker recorded a video message for the estimated 30,000 people who took part in the march.

In the message filmed in a recording studio in Paris, the Pulp frontman held up a world map and said: "You cannot deny geography. The UK is in Europe. How can you take it out?"

From the "pro EU" march, wow. :o

I'm not saying your lying but how many? How do you know they are UKIP supporters, ive kept up with these threads mostly but could have missed them one's, i have seen it mentioned once, but the poster did not threaten to do that himself or herself.

I do expect their to be protests, which will clash and possibly turn violent, but that is not something i want to see, we have already seen some nasty stuff posted on here from protests last week, they were remain protesters though.

I've not seen anything from the leave vote side yet, protest wise etc.

Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.

The left are all out of graciousness.

If you mean overclockers then I'm afraid I can't help you. I'm very much involved in the running of the forum but have no ties at all with the company :)
That said the growth Ocuk has experienced isn't stopping any time soon. Business is currently good, from what I've seen.

Best I drag Gibbo into the thread then.

I've had enough of that, it was a referendum, it isn't determined by mobile statistics, it is a truly first past the post win.
One vote wins it, no matter how unfortunate the outcome for all.

Whilst that is true parliament still has a duty of care to the country. Given that no decision at all has been made yet, all we've had is a glorified opinion poll, the decision is still to be made by those that have the responsibility.

TBH they have no way of winning. They take us out of Europe and towards recession and potential depression, or they annoy up to 52% of the country.

My point being it was a very close vote, trying to claim it wasn't by quoting '1,269,501' because it's a big number is clearly trying to obfuscate the facts.

Anyway, it's not about money. It's about uncontrolled immigration.

I'm all for immigration, believe it or not. my parents are from Eire and Spain.

No. We don't need another referendum either way. There's a parliamentary decision required now.

So in all the build up when Cameron etc said he would implement a50 straight away if we voted out was he lying?

Because before he run away like a coward surely if he had done what he "promised" he would have been met with this parliamentary decision too?

So why did he say what he did? or am i going to get the politician lying shocker quote like a few on here post when they have no answer.

No matter which way the public voted, i am pretty certain a high % from either side knew that if we voted out then that meant Cameron would start article 50?

Nobody at all mentioned a parliamentary decision before a50 is started, i would bet nobody on here predicted that before the vote also.

Sounds like remain voters will push for anything at all that can result in a50 not being started.

I can't find anything from anyone likely to have any level of responsibility that says immigration wil be reduced.

I don't pretend to speak for every remain voter, but I knew that whilst the referendum was important it didn't carry any direct executive decision making.

The acid test is whether future governments will continue to allow in influx of unskilled workers to drive wages down.

I suspect they will, because corporate interests always win out in the end. And Labour are just as pro-corporate as the Tories. It was Labour who signed the deal with Vodafone allowing them to pay no tax at all.

If businesses want low wages, any future govt will continue to allow as many unskilled labourers in as they are told to.
