forced the PCi-E slots in Bios to run as PCI-E 3 and still nothing.
I find it impossible to believe that this sapphire card simply will not work with an msi mobo.
AMD Matt - have you heard of anything like this?
I really do not want to rebuild a windows installation just to test, as it will be a freaking age to sort everything else out if it fails.
I have a similar problems installing AMD driver for my Fury, try this:
Use DDU in safe mode to get rid of old driver.
Boot into windows
if you have downloaded the AMD driver you can unpack it by starting the install and then cancel it after it has unpacked into a folder.
Go to Device manager.
Select graphic card (should say Microsoft default or something like that)
Select update driver and then point it to the folder the AMD driver is unpacked in.
It should install the driver and work fine, the down side to this is the crimson control panel app will not be installed. I have not found a way to install that. I have never been able to install an AMD driver since I got my Fury X without doing this, it’s a real pain.
Already tried that
I hit the black screen as soon as the driver begins to install.
It only works for me if it says Microsoft Default Display Adapter in the device manager, if you have used DDU then it should. Do you get the package failed to install message, it hides behind the installer window but if you look at the task bar it has a second icon which is the error dialog. Also i use Displayport, have not tried HDMI.Already tried that
