Brexit thread - what happens next

That is the most ridiculous thing I've read in some time...

So people who thought a side they wanted to win, wouldn't win, so they voted against it? Why didn't they just not vote?

You're either making that up or you know some very, very stupid people.

Back in Singapore, where there is a strong government relative to opposition, sometimes academics do urge citizens to vote for the opposition in their stronghold constituency just so that they still have a presence to keep the government in check. There are circumstances where people would vote against their beliefs in order to make sure their voice gets heard

This makes sense, I often vote in a different way for MEP elections than I would for General Elections, because I'm more interested in a diverse EU parliament, I've got less interest in voting for a strong opposition or the party I would like to be in power overall.

A protest vote in a binary referendum however is playing with fire.

I am updating the company prices today to adjust.

i know OCuk have had a significant bump and my local supermarket has seen some hikes.

It is still early but there have definitely been price bumps.

I ordered a photographic item in early June and the price quoted was £1915, It's now in stock and yesterday I paid £2109 for it.
The company sources their products in the far east and pays in dollars.

While the element of spurious price hiking because of circumstances exists this company are well known for being the cheapest in UK for their goods.

Look on the bright side - if Remain had won it would most likely have cost you £1800 now ;)

Conversely I know a few remain voters who wished they had now voted Leave, they only didn't as they did not think Leave could win

I know a few abstainers like this, wished they'd voted Leave. I know a hell of a lot more who were for remain but jumped ship when certain 'campaigners' tried to use the tragic murder of politician Jo Cox for their own agenda. :(

Won / Lost is beside the point really, I just want to know when my sovereignty will be delivered. They've not even told me its been dispatched yet and I want to make sure I'm in to sign for it.

unfortunately all our delivery drivers were Polish, now that we have sent them back home, the English ones can;t be bothered because they said it was more profitable to sit at home watching Jeremy Kyle while getting benefits, so you'll have to come to the depot yourself to collect, Sorry ol' chum. :p

yea that was just really bad taste after both sides pledge they would stop campaigning

Aye strangely, that caught the pollsters, who thought it was done and dusted for remain, certainly seemed to have cemented the campaign with everyone bar the public who were actually casting their votes.

Rallied the markets, got the pound sorted, back on track after the slow decline throughout the brexit campaigning, only for it to be utterly trounced in the post vote stagnation.

And here's two more threads of stupidity. Especially the second one. Jo Cox was murdered by a member of Britain First, who campaigned vociferously for a leave vote. She was a big remain campaigner and champion of immigration and giving respite to refugees.

It was her "agenda" that got her killed by a racist nutjob during a referendum campaign which was being fought by a large section of leave campaign by stirring up malcontent over immigration.

If you know people that see it any differently, they're idiots. And how on earth would anything that was said about it cause anyone to change their mind over the EU? Unless they're idiots!

You may need to contact Pwc, Deloitte or KPMG with reference to your desire to take back control of your country and regain sovereignty.

Conservatives are floating the idea of paying financial consultants large swaths of cash to do trade negotiations on our behalf.

Privatising the decision making processes of government.

Real triumph for democracy if they do.

That sounds like an awful idea.

For double irony, because we have little experience in international trade deals, most of them will be immigrants!!!

I did see some leave supporters suggest the Jo Cox murder was a false flag incident in order to discredit the leave campaign.
