I think there's a lot of confusion in this thread, surely nobody is suggesting that a person is more disposed to violence because of their skin colour?

No I think people are saying that it's the culture/sub-culture whatever you like to call it that is the cause of this.

Let's not divert the debate to skin colour/genetics, this is as I see it about a culture which endorses gangs, drugs, guns and anti-police feeling.

Suppose there was a mass shooting at the supermarket where you were and are now trapped. You'd feel pretty foolish saying to yourself "darn it! I have an AR-15 at home that would have given me a fighting change in this situation" while you wait for the gun man to get round to killing you.

Hmm I think you'd be naive to excuse their culture because of the environment. Black culture or rather gang culture is a problem, it's perpetuated by the media, by music and film. Celebrities. Games. There is a problem with the culture, it's not just the environment at fault.
