New car time

I've owned/driven plenty of LHD stuff here and never found it to be a problem, if I'm honest. When it comes to overtaking it's usually just a case of dropping back enough (or manoeuvring) to get a decent view but, truth be told, I've never really found myself in a situation where I've not been able to see past - or get past - something. I'm sure it'll happen at some point, though. About the only thing that was occasionally a pain were parking ticket machines, as they'd be on the wrong side. Nothing a short walk or lean couldn't fix, though. :p

Have a look in mainland Europe for 240Zs, decent ones are much cheaper out there. You can get a pretty good example for around £8k, if not a little less - I almost went down that road!

I'm glad to hear that! I've parallel parked a LHD car but that's about it

It's funny you mentioned getting one from mainland Europe as I've just been having a peek on a site called "Joop Stolze Classic Cars" and they have some nice 240Z's for 10-13k Euros which isn't so bad. There's obviously transport costs from the Netherlands and registering it too which seems moderately painless.

Oooo I would love a 240z, one of the best looking cars ever in my eyes.

Agree 100%.

There's one with a Turbo conversion for sale in Belgium and it's just desperately pretty. Mmmmmm.

Put a lot of elbow grease into the Charger in the latest update. Really pleased with the results, though.

Do need to get the engine fully serviced still, though; it needs new plugs, points, leads, cap, rotor, the works. I might just put a new electronic distributor on it and be done. I'd like to put a bigger, newer carburettor on it too - it should have a 750cfm-850cfm carb on it but at the moment it's only got a diddy 600cfm one!

Well, a job change and a whole host of other things conspired to stop me writing about the Dodge... but it's finally time to start again. It's even legal, these days - but I'll be getting to that soon.

First (new) update here: http://goo.gl/7IYMxc

Great to see an update to the Charger, and congrats on the job change. Will you be featuring in the print mag at all (I subscribe) or online only?

Thanks!

I'm predominantly web based but I do the odd bit for the magazine - Subaru XV review and New York column in the May 2016 issue, for example.

Noting your comments on the Firebird, it seemed you got rid of it at exactly the right time.....for me. I've not spent much on it at all really :p

Was a similar story with the Delta - it ceased doing anything odd the moment I sold it, and the new owner used it for commuting for several months without issue. D'oh!
