Do explain to me, how deporting their relatives and family...who may have every right to stay in France, have anything to do with what this guy did?? Did they supply him with the HGV?? The guns and grenades that were supposedly in the back of the lorry. Have they praised his actions?? The current government are bringing in thousands of reservists (how many do the UK have available...?), so hopefully more Draconian measures on border control and internal movement of suspects can be enacted.

It won't. Britain has the same military model as France: a small, highly professional defence force with the capacity for swift deployment and expertise in special operations. National service would ruin it.

The days when Western armies consisted largely of untrained cannon fodder are long gone.

Yes, he had the free will to choose his wife. The fact he had white skin doesn't mean a thing, the victims of these attacks had no choice. The Dead, the wounded and the mentally scared. We have a choice, suck it up or act. These attacks can't be stopped all the time but when they happen the social network in which the attacks came from needs to be nipped out of our communities.

They'll just adapt as they usually do.

I think people will become less religious as societies carry on progressing... people with higher IQs are more likely to be non-religious than those with lower IQs, plenty of scientists have little time for religion.

However religions do seem to find workaround for all sorts of things from evolution to the fact the people who created Islam weren't aware of the issues people living close to say the north pole would face while fasting in Ramadan.
