It's been around since 1996 so probably older than that. I certainly played the cards and game boy version I'm over that age range. I think a lot up to 35 will have done.

I'm 30 and adored pokemon. It is probably one of my favourite ever games.
I still enjoy playing it now
Why
I like animals, fantasy, dragons and character building games, it also relates to when I was young and collected bugs etc.
The game boy games were actually quite complex too
And playing with a friend and battling was the best
On the flip I hate games like cod, fifa, gta etc
But I'm not enjoying this as it's too far from the originals.
And it will only be lasting for people who spend a lot in it, or have unlimited time to play
With a job and a life you can't keep up. The vast majority of people will find this
