We would know about people running guns, bombs and random acts of driving lorries through crowds yes.
No need to stop immigration.
Maybe at least control it, ask a few searching questions and refuse those without the answers.
German police state that the attacker had German-Iranian dual nationality, and had been in the country longer than two years so, once again, nothing to do with Merkel's decision for Germany to step up and take a reasonable share of the refugee burden.

Following the recent german attempt at coverups i can honestly say I dont belive what they say, its quite likley one of merkels mates recently invited in but they dont want anyone to know about it.
It's probably some psychopath who has seen the Paris attacks, the Istanbul airport stuff and the lunatic on a train and figured it's now his turn to do something mental.
I think this sick stuff inspires lunatics to come out.

The translation goes on about how he said he was bullied at his school and failed all his exams amongst all the torrents of insults and swearing.
I'm no expert but I'd wager the guys just gone postal inspired by recent events. I don't think it's jihadtime. I'm pretty sure it will be portrayed as so by the media or people looking for agenda fulfilling reasons

His father was Iranian, that is the only connection they need.
He had dual nationality; it's very hard to see how he could possibly have that and be a recently admitted refugee.
It's basically like the mass shootings of America, the more the media reports on them, the more frequent they seem to happen, because other extremists will follow suit and go on a spree.
How do you even combat it? Media black out? Would that help or be seen as burying our heads in the sand?
Keeping their name and photo and any details of their life other than anything directly pertinent to them being scum out of the mainstream media until atleast a couple of weeks later when it has slid off the top would go a long way.
One of the things about the ethnicity of these current nutters is that their names aren't remotely memorable. When you think of serial killers and some of the famed US lunatics, you have names, Bundy, Shipman, Gacy etc.
Now I couldn't actually name any single one of the people involved in the terrorist stuff we experience today.
They are nobodies. Their names and photos actually seem to inspire mass racism towards anyone who looks or sounds similar.
Doesn't matter if you can pronounce their name or not to those inspired to carry out copycat acts encouraged by seeing the attacker's name and face plastered over the news - one of the things that drive these kind of people often is that they feel their voice is being ignored.
