ASUS To Raise Prices In The UK By 9%

It won't be just Asus who will raise the prices. It's inevitable, the pound will plunge further and the economy will go into recession once Article 50 gets invoked. Businesses are just anticipating this now and preparing accordingly.

Americans should pay more, purely becasue they cant; say Asus and instead say usoos

Grrrrrrrrrrrr
Grrrrrrrrrrrr indeed! ASUS is a contraction of Pegasus, so it's pronounced AYSUS. Every fuel kno that! (Unless that fuel pronounces Pegasus as Pegusoos)

Wow... really? Little extreme there...

soooooooooooooooo they will put the prices up to reflect the weaker pound, well arnt ocuk for example already paying more in pounds as they buy products in dollars so this is just asus grabbing money with a excuse they think people will swallow.

I only ever have Asus screens. But I dont see myself needing any new ones for a few years. However this is just ********. They will soon come down again when people vote with their wallets.

What bugs me is that prices on Asus graphics cards have already risen in line with the drop in the pounds value.

Now they're pre-empting another 10% rise on top of that.

that's close on a 20% rise following a 10% drop in currency rates.

Funny how this reminds me so much of Apple, yet they're the biggest tech company in the world.

I'm surprised no-one else quoted this.

Consumers do make me laugh though. The iphone has a premium of ~20-25% over other manufacturers with equal if not worse hardware. Yet people still pay the hefty price tag for them.

As i say in all of these types of threads, if you don't like the price, then don't buy it. Consumers have the power to change the pricing, and that's only if they work together and all refuse to pay the premium price. Unfortunately this never happens/will never happen, where one person won't pay the premium, another person will.

I also bought a Large AUKEY Gaming Mouse Pad ( 900x400x4mm ) just to use while waiting for the asus one to come back in stock :o:o :o

I bought an Xl mouse mat on a deal from OCUK and when delivered I thought they'd sent me a rug by mistake

I'm currently waiting until I get a new desk that's big enough for me to use it.

size: 1200x600x2mm

Next time I'll be sure to read the measurements :D

Jesus, £360... Paid £400 for my 1070

That's the problem with Asus's premium products even before this, Why, when considering this product

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus...ddr5-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-40a-as.html

wouldn't you pay the extra 66 quid for this product?

One only just matches a 980 at the best of times while the other often surpasses the 980ti while having an additional 2 gb's of vram just to be on the safe side of having enough and needing more.

Indeed. Or you can get a new evga custom 980ti for only £16 more!

again its NOTHING to do with the pound, because as Gibbo keeps telling us they buy in dollars and they have already been stung. so the excuse of a weak pound is a blatant lie.

.

20 to 25% more like 50 to 75% premium.

But like you say, people still buy them in the droves.

That's a lot more gaming performance for your money plus it comes with the best Nvidia partner customer service.

Let's hope this move actually loses them sales and they know why.

But it uses 20p a day more electric bro!

And the 1060 fully supports async and the 980ti doesnt.

:p

The ROG brand is great and I would love to build a rig full of these products but I can't afford to.
It's no different to me wanting an Audi or Apple though.
Not something to rage about!

This is across their entire range - laptops, monitors, everything. I imagine that there is a direct sales channel to Europe. In fact, I'd be very surprised if there isn't. In either case, RRP is going up on any products priced in £'s and OCUK buying GPUs in dollars isn't going to change that. If OCUK think they can undercut that on some products (e.g. GPUs) by buying from the USA, then I'm sure they will. Though as Gibbo has indicated, they've already had to raise prices because of the Brexit vote as you don't get as many dollars per pound as you used to. In either case, this affects Asus products retail price in Europe across the range, not just Gibbo buying products in dollars. The article on Digitimes indicates Asus avoided a loss by hedging so they must have a European sales channel (which would logically be affected by exchange rates).
