What have you done to your car today?

What's stopping you?

Buying a house which won't be ready until July next year (who's poxy idea was that?!.......ohhh yeah :( ) So I'm stuck with the Mito. Then I have the dilemma of do I go two cars or one as I'll then have a garage and how much more expensive is it to run two cars?

edit: perhaps I should make a thread as I have been thinking on it a lot lately.

Ah, fair point!

My commute is short (20 mins of B road), but it still costs me £200 ish in fuel a month.

Thank goodness I can be young (22) and stupid :D

Dropped it off at ETA Motorsport in Kent today for a subframe reinforcement and an inspection 2 service.

Cleaned my expansion tank, replaced heater matrix hoses and flushed and refilled the cooling system.

Before in "Camo" colour scheme. (that's 21 years/ 190k miles worth of deposits even with consistent servicing)

After several hours with a lot of different products thrown at it, several kettles of boiling water, rice and some small stones as agitators.

Old coolant. Not 100% sure on how old it is but it's definitely no older than 3 years.

Silicone heater matrix hoses fitted. Old hoses were in good condition but they wouldn't part company with the heater matrix barbs so I ended up having to cut them off which was a bit annoying. Having to use a velcro tie to keep the hoses together as half of the original plastic clasp vanished about two years ago.

A slightly tidier engine bay. I've refilled with BMW nitrite free antifreeze after a damn good flushing. Had a good look inside the older silicone hoses and there is no sign of any damage from the OAT coolant, but better to be safe than sorry. (GM dexcool contains 2-EHA which isn't compatible with silicone rubber, hence the change)

Need better audio to get an earful of it in video really, and not of it revving while standing still! In motion is the only time an exhaust should be heard, unless it's just bants :p

Behave, it's hardly a massive car by comparison and far from being a barge

It's as near as makes no difference, the same size as an older 5 series, are they not classed as a barge either?

Please enlighten me as to what specific dimensions something becomes classed as a barge.

Perhaps you should enlighten me as of to what the specific qualifying criteria are as you're clearly the expert here? ;)

A focus saloon and e90 are about 40mm apart in length.. To me that makes the 3 series a relatively compact car. Both are smaller than my boat anchor front ended Octavia, and both are significantly less "barge" like

Completely pointless discussion anyway

Oh **** off mate. I've never tried to or claimed to be an expert on anything on this board, I've politely input my personal opinion on someone's choice of modification and nothing more. Perhaps stop trying to snipe my terminology and focus more on having an input on the discussion?

Sounds racey

Is it me though, or has that car lost the 330i's deep burble but gained rasp?

Its hard to compare using video really I guess as the tones don't always come through properly.

Decent alternative to the sort of standard BMW 6 sound, though I think generally speaking the exhaust butterflies do their job quite well
