What have you done to your car today?

Should have bought that Mazda 5... :p

Better looking, better kit, 08 reg, low mileage, not a Vauxhall, under budget, wont catch fire, not a Vauxhall, not a Vauxhall. ;)

As long as it's fine for a year or so then I'm not too worried. Plan is to try and save and replace it with either a Grand C-Max or an S-Max further down the line.

Need to (re)build some no-claims on my 2nd policy before I look at anything more powerful/more expensive to insure.

More fun with the car. Cut off the caliper bolts which have seized on the other rear axle and got the other hub off ready to go to the machine shop.

Also booked it in for an all new fabric roof on the 12th August and a respray on the 12th Sept :) should be a fine looking automobile come the end of September.

Picked wheels up from city powder coating.
Look good.
Tyres fitted.

Kwik fit and ats want £15 per wheel to simplyswap my wheels over.

Told them that they were jokers as it takes 10 mins max on a lift with their tools.

As in swap tyres? That's a pretty standard charge

Go in somewhere on a quiet morning and you'll get it done for about £20

No.
As in to simply swap 4 alloys for 4 new ones.

Tyres allready fitted. Was simply to swap one set for the other.

Borrowed a low jack from a mate and will sort it in the morning.

I don't know why you'd even bother going to a garage for that... DIY.

You must have a suicide jack you can use to do one wheel at a time!

Locked my keys in the boot....with the dog

I once did this with my old Fiesta.

Went paintballing and the place was up a dusty dirt road, decided to jet wash it in Morrisons on the way home. Had a load of microfibres in the boot so after soaping and spraying it went to dry it...opened the boot and placed the keys down while rummaging about in the back...slammed the boot lid and immediately realised my mistake

The RS is a pain, there's nowhere to put an axle stand except under the suspension near the engine where there is a 2nd pad (the jack is using the other one) and the wheel has to come off to fit it.

Not sure what I'm going to do for a roadside jack now as I don't trust the Audi OEM one and don't want to lug a trolley jack around so I need to do a bit or research!

How about something like this? OE Porsche jack made of all metal, none of this plastic shenanigans.

What happened next rodenal?

I managed to coerce a highly amused spare key assistant to stop by the house and pick up the spare key as I was only a five minute drive away.

I spent about a minute in denial first, even started heading back into the shop I'd just been in to ask if they were there, a bit dim given I'd literally just opened the boot.

I never use the boot only release, this is why! Still, the dog was happy as he had a new toy. Must have looked a bit odd, random guy standing beside a car outside tesco with squeaks coming from the boot

Not strictly true, if it cuts down on their diagnosis timeframe then I'm all for being asked.

The last time I had a car with a coolant leak I knew exactly where the problem was, I just didn't have the time, patience or toolset (inc ramps) to get to it.

The problem is coolant running out from under the header tank because the plastic is cracked. I would have thought it was obvious.

Obvious to someone who has already done some diagnosis, yes. If they are asking you before starting work so as to cut down on both time, and the amount of diagnosis you are billed for, I'd be happy to answer a 20 second question.
