Just wondering if anyone can shed any light if these usb 3 speeds are any good, it's going via an asus z87, intel drivers, and a 2tb WD my passport ext hard drive?

Just want to make sure they are all working ok together.

Done some reading on the app and they suggest a 1GB file so ran that test 5 times, maybe someone who knows the app better then me can comment on speeds

Those speeds are very low. You've probably hot the drive plugged into a USB 2 port. Try the blue USB ports and test again.

Nope that was plugged into a usb3 port on the mb itself, i have now moved to headers on the front of the case and used a new lead that WD supplied and got these results

Not much difference from my POV, the reason i'm doing this is everytime i use the intel app to install i have issues with dual boot so went the other route of just going into device manager and went to usb that had no drivers and just asked it to update drivers and pointed to the relevant folder and done it that way, device manager comes up with no errors but clearly something is not right so i might bite the bullet and try the intel installer and see what results i get back which i will do now and post back just for the hell of it

Your right it is well slow, went via the intel install route and got the following speeds.

I don't get this i have a virgin win 7 U x64 install, and getting nothing like that using 2 different USB 3 ports and 2 different cables, next thing to test then is go back to old image of just windows up to date and look at drivers again, doing my head in now.

Just an update tried 2 external drives and both give rubbish stats so it has to be software issue, i have got all drivers from intel/realtek etc myself, however next time (which wont take long as i have image of just windows up to date and no drivers) i will use drivers from Asus site and see what happens then.

If i was a little of your figures i would not worry about it but givem we are so far apart i have to look into this further.
