Dell S2716DG - Dells first G-sync

Well OC have the thirty days acceptance period where you could have asked for a full refund or a replacement.

Considering how new it is to me that would have been what I would have pursued and not bothered with Dell especially due to the monitor only being a few days old.

I would ping or speak to Bailey to help out with that as OC should have replaced or refunded you, as per their own policy.

30 Days / Acceptance Period
You are entitled to reject goods if they are faulty (do not match the description, are not of satisfactory quality, or are not fit for purpose). You have up to 30 days to check the goods and contact us if there is a fault. You can decide to claim a full refund or request a repair/replacement.

If you are returning for a refund, please include all packaging, cables, manuals, drivers and protective bags. Accessories and promotional items are part of the order and must be returned to ensure a full refund is given. Free games codes should be unused and still hidden.

Do miss the turbo button from my Swift a bit - made it really easy to check what refresh rate was running with minimal effort.

Okay, I'm really annoyed now.

I've waited 2 days to hear back to get approval for a new replacement and it's been declined. Reason being is that the monitor is >35 days old. Apparently it was purchased on July on their records, but I only purchased it on the 4th August from OC. They are only offering me a refurb unit.

Now I have to go contact OC again to see if I get a replacement from them.. how frustrating, holy crap.

If you purchased it on the 4th of august from OCUK then just get a refund from OCUK as it's still within the 2 week period then go and get a new one :)

I contacted OC first and Bailey sent me to deal with Dell and assured me they will sort me out as their customer service is spot on and they will definitely hook me up with a new replacement as they are quick and efficient, bla bla, but nope.. waited 2 days for a disapproval and only offered a refurb.

Such a joke.

Yeah, all of this sounds like bad times - Speak to OcUK again and get them to pick up your one and send a new one over. If they think their Customer Support is spot on (To be fair, I've also never had an issue, but I know what it can be like sometimes), then let them deal with them :p

I asked Bailey if he wants to contact Dell on my behalf to try get it sorted as he'll be more experienced in this sort of stuff, or if not, I'll RMA with OC, but the only problem being is that I'll have to send the monitor away and wait for the replacement, won't get it exchanged on delivery which is a bummer. Don't really want to be without a monitor for a few days :(

Yeah unfortunately that's the nature of the beast... Grab a TV from around the house and use that :p I was using an awful 22" SD TV as a monitor for about a month before I bought the Dell :p

Going through Dell Twitter Support atm and they've just said this:

"Hi, please provide us with your name, complete address, contact number and best time to reach you. We will set up an replacement ( new). ^GY"

Idk why I was told differently on the phone, but if this all goes through, I'll be happy!

Hope they get something sorted out - my experiences albeit limited with Dell RMAs in the past had been positive and I swapped over to this monitor due to the abysmal experience with Asus.

yeah, I've heard a lot of positively in regards to Dell support, but reviews on Dell support are all rated at 1. Not sure what's going on there ;o

It's a shame you had to go to the length of speaking to them on Twitter to get an appropriate response, but hopefully it's going to be sorted ASAP.

well, it's Friday tomorrow.. still have no delivery information, so probably sometime next week. I've only been trying to sort this out since Monday, lol.

Dell support is really peeing me off.
