So once my Exosuit and Starships inventory is full up...what are you supposed to do, aside from using it....just delete stuff?

Top tip, do a melee attack just as you jetpack, gives you a nice speed boost.

Until you find upgrades, yes. Prioritize your mats.

Start crafting them into things, depends what you've got. Look out for drop pods as they can give you more exo slots.
