No Man's Sky - Procedural space game

Yeh I was just trying to clarify/confirm that the fix doesn't work. Was hopeful it would work. I guess I just have to give it a go.

Few more hours in and I'm getting better at parking my ship:

6ACAACB55C115A9A6A221EDF04FDC97282CDD62E

I've changed the FOV settings to 140, seems to be OK, otherwise still on my first planet. Two animals to go to get the reward...I can't find them!

Cheers,

Died for the first time :(

Found some rare items on a moon and got ambushed by pirates on my way to sell them at a space station. Need a better shield!

Still running well for me. A little choppy once it first loads up, but otherwise no stutter or anything once running. I only have an i7 4770 and 295X2 (using one core) too.

Think I screwed up, I found a crashed ship and got over excited and transferred all my items I could over to the new crashed ship only to realise that all the systems are damaged and I do not have the resources to fix it and I am on a completely barren planet with nothing useful in the area.

Is is possible to switch back to my original ship?

I discovered that if you go in to the graphical settings menu in-game it reverts back to 100 FOV, even if you've changed it in the TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.MXML file. I've found 145-150 to be OK... a tiny bit fish eye, but I can't stand stretched which I seem to notice more on anything less. They need to patch this properly!

Anyone had any luck improving the graphical quality? Nothing in Nvidia Control Panel (in the specific Program Settings option) seems to make any noticeable difference. Far too many jaggies for my liking, but is this just a symptom of the engine (OpenGL, voxels etc.) and will never change?

Just died, somehow my ship touched down, then went to launch it and it was stuck in the blue tall structures, theoridim or something? Made it a good video :D

Going to have to look around for a new card if I want to keep this, just playing at 720p on a 1080p screen made me feel sick as anything once i had stopped!

Just a quick rundown, rest of the sytem should be fine shouldn't it?

3rd Gen I5-3570K @3.4, 16GB, Game & OS both installed on SSD, I only want a good quality & framerate at 1080p

Glad i preordered running flawless for me.. only problem ive had is cant rebind mouse 4 and 5

But i aint gonna cry about it.

My system is the similar as yours and seems to be okayish at 1080p (GTX 970) - a few slowdowns here and there. I would think a better card would sort it.

I think the main thing is they need to patch it.

Thanks for that mate, I can imagine the bottleneck the card is causing, the only PC games i usually pay are Kerbal Space Program & TF2 so don't usually have issues, but will see what pocket change I can scrape together, might have to hit the MM for a used card.

Sold most of the Emeril I managed to accumulate last night for roughly 750K credits. Not bad! The planet is abundant with it, so I might have to revisit it and farm some more!

Just landed on very hostile planet, all animals just waiting for me to get out of outpost, and there are 4 legged sentinels hunting me :D

I have somehow lost a lot of hours to this. Going to try it on steam link next.

Sure, I don't think it is worth £40 and there is a part of me that wonders how it has taken them so long to make. That said, there is a lot of potential to add stuff and I can't stop playing - I always want to know what is round the next corner. It is the perfect switch off game for me.

The best thing about this in my mind are the sound effects and music. That score is absolutely brilliant.

It blows my mind how there can be no loading screens and the scale is mind boggling.

I didn't realise how lucky I was on my first planet. Gold everywhere! I have since gone back to boost my funds. I also only appreciated it once I came across a couple of very barren systems.
