I'm considering getting a 2009-2016 zx6r next year when the euro4 compliant 2017 model makes all the older bikes drop in value.

It's the bike that got me into bikes, and I'd like to start doing track days next year.

Bad idea?

Why would you be embarrassed? There's always someone out there with more riding ability than you.

Edited the post, re-read it. ;)

Why Kwikasfuki? Get a CBR or GSX-R :D

I watched some guys really pushing the S1000RR testing the limits of the DTC. It was insane.

Still though, getting overtaken on the inside is embarrassing. :p

Going by the reviews of the ZX10R, being the first to comply with the new rules it might be that the older ones become in demand more!!

Well at least until they manage to get the balance right

That was my thought, look at 90's JDM cars how the jumped in price compared to the modern fiesta ST's and other crap... Same thing will happen with bikes, another example is ninja 300 vs VFR NC30 (Some go for 5-6k+)

Thinking I should get a cam. In my mind the best way to do this is to have a top of helmet point as this should mean the dash is out of view.

What are peoples thoughts?

Also what equipment is recommended? On a budget atm - This is for crash fault proof not vlogging

Even without the dash it is trivial to calculate your speed from the road markings.
