Still loving the look and feel of dead planets... also their gold :D

It looks awesome when a fleet warps right into your flight path.

Watched Worthabuys? part one video on this and whilst I agree and disagree with what he says he really does make me laugh.

NMS is definitely a marmite game, I'm really liking it and so far it has that 'just 10 more mins' effect until you realise it's been 1-2 more hours!

Noticed quite often though stuff like that acted like it was just coming to life when you enter an area - i.e. warp to a star, stuff immediately warps in - kills the sense of a living universe with history and makes everything feel fake.

For those with Nvidia cards try this:

Nvidia control panel > Adjust image settings with preview > use my preference emphasing > move to the slider to "Quality" all the way to the right, and apply.

Does that override the program specific advanced 3D settings then? Because nothing I do in there makes any difference visually as far as I can see.

I didn't do a before and after so not sure what it changes sorry. just trying any improvements I can find :/ I haven't noticed any changes but the game is a lot better performance wise for me at least.

10hrs in and I'm quite enjoying it, had a few multitool upgrades, still no atlas pass yet. Been to a few planets and warped to a few other star systems.

Need to explore more when I am on planets as i don't spend that much time on them.

Here was my home planet, quite nice.

I don't have the game but it actually made me want it - just not enough to throw £40 at it, certainly a game to pick up in a sale later though.

Keen to see the second half of his review though, he is pretty funny but I've a feeling part of why he's so annoyed is that he wanted to like it.

is there any way of saving waypoints so that you can fly back to them later? I keep seeing huge great deposits of expensive minerals but with a full inventory. By the time ive sold up i cant find my way back to them again!

I have blueprints that aren't appearing. I definitely got the hyperdrive blueprint, but it is nowhere to be seen to craft, so I need to be careful.

I also received a thermal protection blueprint as last time it said 'already known' and yet it isn't anywhere to be crafted.

Edit: all known and to be fixed apparently.

I'm about 18 hours in, upgraded my suit till its now costing me 170k to upgrade. Still undecided about the game, not much variation in plant or animal life bases are much of a muchness and I have yet to find a green planet.

My home planet was lush and green full of trees and weird bushes and weird caves and as flew up it changed too all orange was really nice.... some freaky animals too even the 2 neighbouring planets were kinda the same but different colours.

worthabuy review is totally 100% spot on...mining and grinding...mining and grinding...mining and grinding...next planet...mining and grinding...ad infinitum. Some might find it relaxing and therapeutic i guess. I lasted 40 mins before i could not take it anymore.

And thats not to mention the god awful flight and stutters and texture popups omg :( The ****** would not let me crash are you ****** kidding me! But hey thx for steam refunds *phew*

I don't think so, but this NEEDS to be implemented. I found a crashed ship which I wanted, but I had too much stuff in my existing ship's inventory to move from one to the other and my exo-suit was also full, so I went to a nearby base to sell a load of stuff, which was literally around the corner. Took me about 30 minutes to find the crashed ship again lol! A simple marker buoy or something like that would be INVALUABLE.

The texture popping in REALLY doesn't help in this regard either. When flying around you often can't see something like a ship or structure until you're really close or even on top of it. I really hope they can do something about this, but I don't know if it's a limitation of the engine.

I also think they need to make it clear which areas you've visited from the air. I've lost count the number of times I've landed somewhere thinking it's new only to discover I've already discovered it! A simple colour coded icon or symbol system would solve this easily.

Mack's "worth a buy" is totally spot on. It's only the sci fi nerd in my that's really trying to stick it out, but the game is just so amateurishly put together it's totally embarrassing. Yet, no dev or publisher gives a toss as long as it makes them loads and loads of profit right.

I will try my best to see it through, they've taken my money so I will try and get my monies worth, but its going to be so hard doing exactly the same thing after 200 hours playtime as I did in the first 10 minutes. Game just smacks of not giving a damn, no attention to finer details, nothing there to excite the gamer etc, it's just an overpriced cash grab that really should never have been released with so little to do.

Still, HG have made copious amounts of wedge out of it, I doubt very much there is anything they can do to add some much needed content to it, it's just a huge lazy ass PS4 port. Hell I can't even rebind basic thumb buttons on my mouse, everything smacks of console and a money grab.

Forza Apex on PC is pretty much a tech demo and an experiment on what could be achieved for future Forza releases on PC through Windows store....and was free. Yet this game is 40 big pounds and plays like a giant steaming **** that is really a tech demo as well.

I'm going back to mining and grinding, mining and grinding lol. Gotta see it through to at least the centre, although reading in between the lines, the ending is just as lame as the rest of the game.
