No Man's Sky - Procedural space game

Is gold that much of a deal? I found 3 columns about that size of it within the first hour of playing but not really got a use for it yet.

I'm almost tempted by this, but not £40 tempted!

Same here. I keep returning to this thread.....

The amount of cut content and the repetitive play doesn't really appeal. The exploration side though is really itching me to buy, even if things do all look a little samey.

A few screenies.

Well I'm still loving it ...

BUT...

E3 trailers that show any game whatsoever to be something other than it actually is should be legally binding. You dont watch a film trailer and see a worse film, so why is this acceptable with games?

I've watched the E3 trailers for this in 2014, 2015 and 2016 back to back and bearing in mind E3 2016 was only 2 months ago, the end result compared to what was promised is ridiculous.

I'm enjoying it, but I feel like I could be enjoying it so much more. This really is borderline false advertising. I'm aware of how much peoples hype might have got the better of them, I wasn't one of them which is why I feel like I'm still enjoying it, I refused to watch any trailers or spoilers before it was released.

Even though I'm enjoying it I think Sean Murray has a huge amount of questions to answer, and he isn't bothered about it in the slightest. Forget whatever was mentioned about multiplayer, where the hell is the kid of life and space battles that were offered up in the trailers? Where are the sand planets? What about the AI?

I'm going to try for a refund, its literally not as advertised and I feel like the fact that I enjoy it shouldn't detract from the fact that game devs shouldn't lie.

I tried for refund but got rejected Boycey. I stated even though I had played more than the 2 hours in policy, that the product was nowhere near what was promised and talked about and believed this was total false advertising.
Also explained the ridiculously bad optimisation in the game, sub 60fps is not acceptable for such an ugly game and clearly a lazy ps4 direct port with no thought for me as a pc gamer etc.

You can all but try though mate.

I feel sorry my son who has been working his butt off during the School Holidays to waste his hard earned dosh and buying his old man this garbage for his Birthday :(.

This game is clearly not as advertised, it's about time these Developers/Publishers are taken to task and made an example of .

As much as I agree that these companies who falsely advertise video games should be held accountable, if it was to happen pretty much every single gaming company would get spanked and that'd hurt gaming even more. Not fair to single one instance out over all the rest either.

This is what video gaming is now, downright lies from developers, paid-for fake reviews and zero chance of any legal demos of big name products. Unless you know good sources for information, which the average gamer probably doesn't, you'd best stock up on a few crates of lube. Those of us who can find or access useful reddits, reliable reviewers and previewers etc. are the strict minority.
