What have you done to your car today?

Cambridge or Staffs? :D

Yeah I'm waiting for a heap of parts to arrive so I can replace the piston rings, head gasket and timing chain before winding it up another notch. Nothing wrong with it but it's on 90k+ miles and wont hurt it plus the timing chain is starting to rattle slightly at higher revs.

Once that's all settled in it'll be Shrick cam, 550CC injectors, 17%pulley and another remap :D
Stafford, Eccleshall.

Always better safe than sorry, you do the work yourself I take it? Apart from the things you need proper kit for (mapping, machining).

Figured out how much it would cost to get the Sloda to 200HP with a turbo, mani, injectors, head bolts, larger side mount IC, IC piping, decat pipe, single mass flywheel, uprated clutch, and mapping, along with springs, dampers, top mounts, a few bushes, and brakes.

The answer? £1500 + labour.

Mods and money better spent on something else. :p

Slowda haha. Time for a different car. I have my Seat Arosa 1.4 16v for my daily drive lol. Could be worse ;):p

No, its nowhere near as bad of an idea as that. :p
Tuning Developments had a Celica hatchback which was running 340+ bhp which looked stock apart from the massive brakes (ST185) under Toyota T spot alloys! Full on sleeper!

You mean ST205 brakes? The st185 had rubbish brakes.

I've just driven mine through the centre of Newcastle. The new bus lanes there are a total ********. 7am-7pm and it's most of the roads in the middle, which are also mostly one way for double confusion.

How much power?? :) Always had a soft spot for these... :p

You know you should! Although an R53 will never make a wastegate noise like mine! :p

Indeed, complete stupidity to do that

If it were a mint PD130 L&K with lower miles, or VRS, perhaps not. But mine is hardly a good base car for such things :p

Just do it. What could possibly go wrong?

Great tyres. Super cheap too.
I got a full set last month. £50 each from camskill (225/40/18)

Only downside, they are a noisy tyre on some roads.

I wasn't overly impressed. Sidewalks to soft for me. But then they were on a big people carrier, but did have to correct load ratings.

I rate the Vredstein Sessanta much higher personally, and only a very tiny bit more expensive, usually. They have just released the Satin now though, which is getting great reviews.

Lol I'm not actually going to do it :p

If it were half that then I may think about it. But I'm not spending north of £2K on a £1.2K car to get 200HP out of it.

I found that when I had some on my old clio. But they had much bigger profiles. When it's only a 40 it's much better and the ones I have are the extra load and rim protection.

Conundrum...
A4 ADR 1.8i (non turbo) keeps overheating. I think water pump is working as when I burped the heater core hoses water was coming out of the bleed hole and I had replaced the thermostat last week thinking it was maybe that, so stat should be OK.
Bottom hose is staying stone cold.
Could it be a blocked rad?
Just about to go try and pull the front of the car off to get at the rad and just wanted to sanity check.
Car is a junker so not willing to take it to the garage and spend money on it!
What would you do next? I have tried bleeding it 3 times and elevated the reservoir to help bleed it.
Should I just assume HG and dump it?
