Brexit thread - what happens next

Haha, like how China is devaluing their currency and the Americans aren't dealing with their eventual default situation?

Russia is currently in sanctions and Japan is in negative rates (something that is not technically allowed).

Load of crap.

There is finance for public consumption and finance that takes place at meetings behind closed doors such as the G7. Do you suck up everything you read in the Daily Mail?

Clearly there's a certain minority percentage of the UK public that want complete isolation but I can't imagine it's that many, why you would want to cripple your capital city makes no sense to me at all?

The problem is that there is also a percentage of tory mp's who hold the same views, & they are the ones who are going to be the most trouble some, after all one of the reasons a referendum was promised by Cameron in the first place was to placate his own rebellious back benchers, & May has inherited the same problem.

Some more great news.

We haven't Brexited yet :D
Let us not forget some facts in all this doom and gloom.
When we Brexit, then we will know what effects it has, thus far, the fear of Brexit has smashed the pound. That is basically the only effect.
The rest as ever remains unknown until it physically happens.

-edit Just read the article, one could argue virtually all the points from an alternative perspective, I just couldn't be bothered, as I would rather be positive in this post-vote climate.

I was of the impression leaving the EEA was required to sever our ties with the ECHR? I know many who voted to leave the EU, myself included, also wanted to stop, in due course, the lunatic rulings from the ECHR hamstringing our autonomy in dealing with many legal cases.

Many legal cases? The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg rules against us less than ten times a year. Even then, our government has the right to ignore its rulings, as it has done with votes for prisoners.

I believe the two are not related ;)
BrexitTruths :P

People had no idea what they were voting for. Serenity with sovereignty!

But it now seems like the UK government doesn't even want to join the EEA which to me seems strange as most commentators on TV and in forums were happy with the Common Market an often read quote was we joined the Common Market not the EU.

And i would be one of them, i was fine with the Common Market but i didn't want to be part of the political entity that was the EU. But if the EU doesn't want to play ball and want to cut off it's nose to spite it's face then fine, we'll leave the common market too

Yes that will show them. UK jobs come second to teaching them a lesson.

Just have tariffs , simple really. We'd still have the trade and they will too

The amount of complete ******** NOPE Maccapacca wanting something bad to happen because the vote hasn't gone their way is astounding.

The Guardian is Brexiter?!!!!!!!:eek::D

Bizarre world when people get annoyed at bad things not happening.

You seem to be in a delusional phase

1. The Pound is down 10%+ Fact
2. People travelling abroad were getting less than 1Euro for their pound at Gatwick last week Fact

3. Were you saying the FT was lying when it said the City was trying to get bespoke deals now that the EU Passporting will be dead?

4. Are you delusional enough to claim that if the Banks go to Paris/Frankfurt and we loose there taxes we will not face economic chaos?

Judging by your posts you seem to ignore facts, and prefer to believe fantasies like the NHS will get £350million extra a week. It's called reality, bad things do happen and to believe in fantasies and/or pretending they do not happen will not help.

Something bad has happened - I think that is the point.

Putting 'fact' at the end of each sentence does you no favours.

If you think the Gaurdian employs delusional reporters thats up to you - im not a fan either.

I don't think you need to be as frightened as you clearly are though.

Wouldn't that be the UK cutting off it's own nose to spite its face? The EU will carry on regardless with 27 other countries trading with each other as usual. And they'll still trade with the UK of course, but tariffs will apply. Those tariffs will hurt in both directions, but it's likely to hurt the UK more than the EU.

The longer we drag this on, we hurt the EU, i hope we begin A50 right before the French or German Elections to really drag the dirt.
