What can i do about noisy neighbors kids!

When I used to work nights I had a soothing sounds CD which was whale noise, waves crashing against rocks etc, I'd put the CD on and fall asleep to it, it had the added benefit that it would block out most of the outside noise.

Doesn't stop the kid issue but might help you with the sleep issue. Although if you are the type who needs silence to then this won't help.

Frankly I'm with OP here ... I two live in a generally quiet neighbourhood but have issues at time with some of the kids playing on my property ... and yes by that I mean my front garden. It isn't all of them but there are a couple in particular who have zero respect for anyone elses property (to the extent that even the kid from next door got stropy with his friend for destroying plants in their front garden). They seem to think that everyones garden is their playground.

This is trespassing and vandalism.. why just sit back and let it lie..

Sometimes its quite obvious kids like this are getting no discipline from there parents.. a nice little visit from the police maybe the push they need to take some responsibility.

OP i don't get it.. you keep saying 'your land' if you own it tell them to leave or phone the police on 101... why should your quality of life be effected..

Don't worry what your neighbors think.. maybe they will understand their kids are being little ***** and do something bout it.

and definitely get your garden thoroughly vandalised...

get a noisy vicious dog and tie it up in your front garden so it snarls at the kids and barks all night annoying your neighbours

I am interested in knowing if it is OP land or not.

TBH its just kids playing, proper windows should block out most of the sound. If it does not, wax earplugs will do the trick.

As for the 'danger' the kids are under for being near the road, it would be easier to get the drivers to be careful than to stop the kids playing. If you actually care about their safety, contact the local council, they respond quite promptly to this stuff and will put out a 5mph or children playing sign before you know it. Maybe even speed bumps.

If you want to be annoying and IF it is your land, get a small fence or put some thorny bushes down. If you want to go for most malicious OTT response of the year, have a walk around the nearest riverbank or wood with some rubber gloves, dig out some giant hogsweed and replant it at home.

Not cool. He will not only need rubber gloves, but a proper hazmat suit too. And then he won't be able to grow anything else in there.

OP, if it's land you own talk to parents, if it doesn't help call the police for trespassing, little buggers need to be taught to respect other properties. I was a kid not too long ago, I had no problem restricting myself to my yard or a nearby park.
Neighbour owning an unstable 2' tall dog helped too :D

Why should parents monitor their kids all the time? I'm fairly sure when I was 11-16 in the summer holidays (1960's), I never went home between breakfast and tea time. We used to roam for miles.

buy them all a xStation:U, damn kids getting fresh air etc, in my day we were confined to the house with only a game and watch to share between 11 of us...

Alternative is you spread a rumor that your a kiddy fiddler and watch as the parents hound you out of the close stop their kids playing near you

Ditto on this, it's not necessary to monitor larger groups kids playing at all times when you know they are outside in your street.

Ditto for me.. difference was we did not sit on someones land near there house making excessive amounts of noise.

If the kids are truly on 'his ' land r.e. front or back garden then they need to be moved on..

OP really needs to explain the 'his land' part as i really don't know any kids that would just park themselves on someones front or rear garden and make noise.

When I was a youngster it was impressed on me that I wasn't to cause a nuisance to our neighbours or anyone else for that matter and if I cheeked anyone my parents had informed the neighbours they were to give me a 'backhander'.

Would that happen these days? what do you think? Firstly too many parents couldn't care less what their offspring are up to so long as they aren't aggravating them. As for giving them a backhander, well you can imagine how that would end can't you.

We were told to go and play on the 'rec' (recreation ground) by our parents. We would be there from morning until night, literally until twilight. If you read Police reports from those times (fifties and sixties) there were quite a number of child crimes even then.

However, there was no Internet or instant news back then so you didn't hear about it the same. Today's parents are paranoid and too scared to let their children play more than a hundred yards from home. This is borne out by actual statistics.

We strayed miles from home which would have today's parents having kittens.

It's not fair to have kids causing mayhem on the streets spoiling others peace and quiet if parents aren't prepared to police their own children. An ideal solution would be a proper supervised area where children could play and be children without being harassed by adults and bullied by older teenagers.

Better to live a day as a lion than a lifetime as a lamb.

Honestly, that sort of attitude is exactly why we have these sorts of problems. People need to start taking a stand for the better of all society.

Phonign the police that there are kids in your garden is living as a lion?
