yeah iirc a few stunt bikes get converted to dry sump with an electric pump to avoid oil starvation in long wheelies :p

The fronts always going up on my bike. Anytime I throttle it a bit fast, it's up. If I'm going to go heavy on the throttle, I have to push my weight forward to keep it down!

I've found to maintain wheelies (on private property oc ;)) I just need to slide back a bit, to get more weight over the rear. SM's are great for this.

The S1000XR looks nice and or the MT-09 Tracer. KTM is ugly, especially the adventurer. :p

I like the off road capability of the KTM, there's a few unpaved apline passes that are on my list to do, such as the Colle delle Finestre

and the colle dell'Assietta next to it. Plus I'm sure there's load of other stunning places off the beaten track in the alps.

They're a wheelie machine too :D

I haven't tried deliberately yet, did a big wheelie by accident when somebody pulled out onto a NSL and I'm quite sure deliberately stayed at 10mph for some reason, passed on their left and revved at them, when I let the clutch back out the front lept up!

Just watched your vid. There isn't much difference between what you're doing and what they teach using the clutch.

Instead of closing the throttle then wacking it open and yanking on the bars, accelerate gently like you do, then wind the throttle too around 2/3-3/4 count 2 seconds and ping the clutch. You'll find it'll come up smoother and more controllable.

Oh and as mentioned earlier if you're going to keep doing it chuck and extra litre of oil in, top tip direct from a stunter that ;)

Ta, I'll give it a go today. :D

My mate has made a little wall inside the sump to stop it from oil starvation. :p

Got me interested... :D

Wheelies are something I tend to avoid but when twisting the throttle alone in the first 3 gears brings the front up then sometimes they just...start to happen. Foot or so lift, no wheel stands for me!

what bike is power wheeling in 3rd?

guessing some kind of dirt/supermoto thing?

S1000R, and having tested one I can confirm what he says is true!

The electronics control it all for you though and stops it going too high. It makes you look like a boss :D

Showroom condition  :D It reminds me a bit of the Mito 125 :p Mainly the front...

Edit
The fear of dropping/totalling a £14k bike tends to stop you :p
Only just saw that, I hope that the cost of the bike won't stop me from having fun on my future more expensive bikes. (than my SV)

Although, normal riding around the twisties and doing stunts is a totally different thing. :p

I would love to be able to pop a wheelie on my Harley! Forward controls and lack of talent mean its a bit of a pipe dream.

Bonneville is for a chilled relaxed ride, not doing wheelies, speeding or putting your knee down. :p If I ever grow out from progressive riding, I'll get something like a boneville or some kind of loud cruiser. I doubt that'll happen though :p

Speed or Street would be a better bike, if you want to do some hooligan stuff and if you prefer triumphs. :D
