Arrrrrgggh! Bloomin' Thrips!

Have you tried nuking them from orbit, sir?

Yes.

I also pooped through their letter box and asked my dad, who kills Queen Wasps for a living, if he could bring one home to get them.

Neither solution worked and they are still crawling about.

Blighters are starting to gather in the corners of the living room as well. Expecting them to attack or something soon.

Fear not -- deploy Spider Queen! (Or think it through and get nets and insect spray.)

Thunderbug/Thrip/Corn Fly/Storm fly

Millions of names for these things. They're tiny and will end up behind picture frames/inside your monitors if you have a lot of them.

i had this a few years ago absolute nightmare to get it out, left a torch on at night in the dark and it went, maybe coincidence but it was suggested and seemed to work

I can't believe no one has heard of thrips.

When we was kids Mom always made sure we put cotton wool in our nose and ears as they crawl up in night and nest there. - Some kids at school lost their hearing and others had nasal problems. :p

Perhaps some of you guys should read more books instead of playing games.

They used to swarm mad style outside my old workplace during the summer. Would constantly be covered in them when going for a lunchtime stroll.

At one point, one of the little barstewards landed on my eyeball. That was an experience.

Hate hate HATE them.

*Looks at posters name, nods, continues on with day*

Thank yourself lucky it wasn't what I caught thumping about a light shade last year....

I cannot remember what it was. Looked it up at the time... It was like a beetle but flies maybe about an inch long/1 - 1.5cm wide. Prominent gold markings on the side of the head down the black body like a V of some sort. Strange looking twig like things from the head. Said it can bring on horrible side affects if it bit you.

I give you, the cockchafer (yes, seriously)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cockchafer

Big, loud and annoying, but it won't bite or sting.
